June 30, 201312 yr I noticed that the PMDG-737 has two A/P buttons. One located on the captain's yoke, the other one on the MCP ( on the right side ) What is the difference between the two.I read in the London-Amsterdam tutorial to use the A/P on the MCP after reaching 400 feet. Can anybody explain the difference. HubertWerni Herbert Werni
June 30, 201312 yr The yoke button is regular device for disconnecting the A/P. The MCP A/P disconnect is more of a back-up in case the yoke button doesn't work. It's more like an ON/OFF switch. If it's OFF, you can't engage the A/P. The yoke swtich just disconnects the A/P and you can reconnect via the CMD A/B switches. I've never used MCP switch. Matt Cee
July 9, 201312 yr The Control column autopilot disengage switch is a Electric disconnect of the autopilot. The disengage bar on the Mode Control Panel is a mechanical disconnect of the autopilot. The flight crew uses the disengage bar when the disengage switch fails to disconnect the autopilot. Mark. Boeing 737-6/7/8/900(ER) Ground Engineer. Mark Scheerman Boeing 737-6/7/8/900 Ground Engineer
