July 18, 201312 yr Shalom and greetings all my pals,Long long long before Era Airlines' Wild Alaska Flying and Buffalo Airways' Ice Pilots NWT, there was original and genuine combo of those two airlines. It is called Reeve Aleutian Airways founded by Robert Campbell Reeve who arrived in Alaska with only 2 bucks in his pockets and started a real Alaskan type airline by leasing a plane for 10 bucks a hour from other airline. His airline Reeve Aleutian Airways was renowned for flying many routes within Alaska in most extreme difficult winter conditions just like you see the two tv shows.Presenting a typical Reeve Aleutian Airways flight from PAGM Gambell Airport located in the village of Gambell on the northwest cape of St. Lawrence Island west of mainland Alaska in the Bering Sea just south of the Bering Strait at about 63°30' North 173°20' West to PAOM Nome Airport located two nautical miles west of the central business district of Nome, AlaskaReady to be loaded with cargo, mail, and passengersEntering into runway 16 for take offNice cockpit window view of sunrise while starting take off runAirborne on climb to 9,000 ft with amazing background view of sunriseCockpit window view of sunrise again (sorry cannot resist) during left 180 degree turn toward east on way to PAOMStill in middle of left 180 degree turn to eastStill climbing at very slow rate to 9,000 ftAnother cockpit window view of sunrise during cruise at 9,000 ftCannot resist more sunrise viewCruisingWow I can get gorgeous sunrise and moon at same time!!Very tough for me to concentrate on cockpit gauges when I have gorgeous view of sunrise!!Cruising at 9,000 ft across vast Bering SeaDescending from 9,000 ft to 2,000 ft through clouds facing a powerful snowstormAt 2,000 ft battling powerful snowstorm and strong unpredictable windsOn final approach to PAOM runway 28Over town of NomeYikes winds were too strongTOUCHDOWNBacktrackingArrived at PAOM terminal to drop off passengers who are going transferred to Reeve Aleutian Airways' new 727 jetliner while Alaska Airlines 737-400C is getting ready for its flight to FairbanksThank you for viewing!!
