MegaSceneryEarth 2.0: NEW ENGLAND (Flight 1 T182T)

Featured Replies

05:00 AM   Flight 1 T182T, flight from Berlin, New Hampshire   <>   Fryeburg, Maine

(MegaSceneryEarth 2.0  Maine & New Hampshire packs).

....Departing just after 5am, we were the only ones at the field at that hour.    The daylight was not as keen to get out of bed as we were!

Shortly after departure, we climbed to 6500', experiencing some mist at this level, obstructing our visibility of the ground.

We dropped to 5500 but still experienced some hazey mist.

3500' put us below most of the cloud for our 17 minute flight south to Fryeburg, ME.

We started our descent, originally planning to shoot the GPS Rwy 32 approach, but at 1500' we had good visibility so called a visual.

Fryeburg in front of us, as we get ready to join the circuit, mid-downwind.   WE NOTE A PLANE ON THE RUNWAY.   The PIC makes a call on Fryeburg radio annnouncing his take-off.   He'll be no factor to us, by the time we get around the circuit and land.

We land safely.   The time is 05:21 and Fryeberg is as quiet as Berlin NH was.   Time to scrape off that bug splat!

We let the turbo oil cool, before cutting the engine, and going to see if we can get a coffee anywhere in Fryeburg, at this hour!

Very nice shots, may I ask how you're enjoying MSE so far? I plan on purchasing it but wanted to get some input first. Only downside with VFR scenery is when you're near the ground everything looks flat. However if there's autogen laid on top of photo scenery, then things look much better. Can you have autogen above MSE photo scenery? I have seen it before in other screenshots, but not yours.

I absolutely love MSE 2.0 and am flying nothing but it, at the moment. :)

The above screenies are more about the "5am atmospherics" and actually show nothing of the beauty of MSE 2.0.

There is no autogen whatsoever with MSE 2.0;  what you will have seen are the placed 3D buildings that do still show with MSE.    These are stock FSX objects that are placed in some areas; eg if you fly over NYC with MSE, there are still the 3D buildings.       But there is no autogen, and I prefer it that way, as autogen would block the fantastic visuals and realism of the ground images.

Sometimes the first 1000' of climbing (or descending) can be a little 'flat' but it depends what area you are in, and IMHO it's a worthy and minor comprimize for such stunning visuals from about 1000 upwards.  If you are near hills or mountains then the 'flat' issue really barely exists.

I honestly could not fly without MSE at the moment, and I cannot wait until they eventually arrive across the pond, in Europe.

Wonderful scenes!
