July 25, 201312 yr I would appreciate some opinions on which one is better 1. Carenado SR22 2. Eaglesoft SR22 I also would like to get your guys opinions on TSS sounds, is it an improvement to get these and install these sounds on the Airbus X Extended, CS 757, PMDG 747? - - Tommy - -
July 25, 201312 yr Both different Carenado uses the G1000 Perspective package. It's a basic mod of the stock G1000. Eaglesoft uses the older Avidyne, custom modeled but not extremely advanced. You can put two RXP 430's in their VC as well for added NAV support. I've got a little cirrus stick time and the ES seems to fly better but I'm no expert. The parachute only works on the ES version. The graphics are better on Carenado (as usual) but overall I'd say the ES version is better. I don't know much about TSS sounds. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
July 25, 201312 yr Author Ok thanks Ryan! You've been a great help! Ps. TSS is the question now guys! - - Tommy - -
July 25, 201312 yr I pretty much echo what Ryan said. The Eaglesoft SR22 was released in about 2007, so bear that in mind. But this only really imparts on the texturing; which obviously is not as good as today's offerings. Apart from that, I would rate it highly above Carenados offering. You should bear in mind that Carenado recently re-optimized their G1000 system, for the TBM and C206, but the version of their G1000 included in this SR22 is an absolute beast on frame rates..... where I get 26 FPS with the PMDG NGX, I get around 20 FPS with Carenado's SR22, (with the PFD and MFD turned on; which, contrary to Carenado's advice, is how their flown!). As Ryan also said, the avionics are very different; Eaglesoft's is the Avidyne, which is a slightly less integrated approach, but then again Carenado don't model the GFC700, so they too have a separate autopilot etc too. If textures and visuals are everything to you; buy Carenado (and if you don't mind relatively low frames). If flight model authenticity and good frame rates matter to you, go for Eaglesoft. TSS - Excellent, I own around 8 of their sound packs and don't regret any of them.
July 25, 201312 yr Apparently Carenado will soon release an "FPS patch" for the SR22 and 182T. I don't have the SR22 but I do have the 182T. I can tell you that at the moment, the FPS hit with these older Carenado G1000 models is pretty bad. I don't fly the 182T much even after I upgraded to a Haswell CPU. -

That'll be great if they do. It would win a lot of faith back in them, from me.
