Having a Great Time :-)

I spent a few hours applying Murmur's suggestion about editing the Sky Color palettes.

It's the kind of stuff I usually don't do, but I have to admit that even using basic tools like IrfanView and MS Office Picture Manager it is possible to do some basic but valuable modifications to better suite my liking, and eventually I arrived to what I consider an acceptable twilight / dawn / dusk color and light intensity (just for clear sky conditions... then I'll have to go through the rest of the palettes...).

This brings up one of the most interesting characteristics of X-Plane : the power it gives it's users regarding the ability to create their own objects, sceneries, aircraft, etc... more or less easily, either using built-in tools or WED, or other widely available programs. It's all a question of willing or not to do it.

I also have been editing a few of the default aircraft. Again something that Plane-Maker and Airfoil-Maker turns into a much easier task than editing for instance MSFS aircraft flight dynamics... Editing the airfoils of the default C172, etc... experimenting with the various graphs, can change dramatically their behavior in flight, under extreme situation, stall, post stall, etc...

There is yet one thing I didn't start doing, and that's editing the new airports of 10.22, using default objects from WED. I will start with an aerodrome nearby Lisbon - Cascais = LPCS, and see what I can get... One never knows if my unveiled talent was, after all, airport design for X-Plane :-)

All this summed up equals a hell of a good time spent so far during this weekend with X-Plane10 :-)

I like the thought of jcomm the scenery designer. With your commitment and enthusiasm it would cover the planet in no time

BTW what happened to the pig? I almost got used to it.

Well, the poor soul drowned :-/  He didn't know how to swim that good .... Well....

It was chosen because one of my daughters used to say (when she was a child) I looked, at least in terms of skin color, a lot like a pig!!!!
