Installing FS9 in addition to FSX

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have been using FSX for just over a couple of months which I am pretty happy with on my low end system and while having a sort through I found my copy of FS9 complete will 4 VFR scenery dvds for the UK still in their wrappers plus World Airports 2 which I used to use on my previous pc. I also have noticed that there are fs9 versions of the two UK2000 airports I have purchased ( Luton and Gatwick)

Can I install this onto my pc in addition to FSX?  as I am hoping that it would run pretty well and if so are there any pitfalls that i need to be aware of?

Many thanks

I have FSX and FS9 on my machine without any issue. Just make sure not to install either into the default directory because Windows is uber-protective in the Program Files area, make it its own directory like (Drive):\FS9

Thanks for replying Chris, that's perfect, I installed  FSX onto my 2nd hard drive, so will create its own folder on that drive too.

The only issue happens if you uninstall FSX on a computer that also has FS9 on it.

The FSX uninstaller will remove the FS9 registry entry.

There is an easy fix, should you need it. Run the Flight1 registry tool and all is good.
