How to divert for emergency landing

Recommended Posts

I was running low on fuel and I decided to declare an emergency and vox assigned me an airport then failed. I could not figure out how to reprogram the fmc with the new airport I wanted to land at. I was able to select an alternate destination, but could not replace my original destination with the new one. How can you change the destination in the fmc once your in midflight?

That thread is rather confused, the answer is not clear. The simple answer is to open RTE page 1, enter the departure airport again which will then allow you to enter the alternate as your new destination.

Well, actually all you need to do on that page is enter the new destination airport using the 1R LSK; there's no need to re-enter the departure airport. But, thanks for the feedback anyway. :P
