August 14, 201312 yr Hi everybody Just building a few real world flight plans for when the B777 comes out, but this one has me a bit stumped. Going from FIMP (Mauritius) to YPPH (Perth) I came across co ordinates such as S 21 30.0 E 072 48.0 I am happy entering a coordinate like S20 00.0 E 090 00.0 as 2090S but how do I enter S 21 30.0 E072 48.0 into the FMC? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Tim Regards Barra i7 7700K, 16GB 3200MHz DDR4, GTX1070 OC 8GB, 1TB Samsung SSD for OS and P3D4.4, W10 64Bit, Corsair H115i Water Cooling
August 14, 201312 yr Author I thought positions were limited to 5 characters? Regards Barra i7 7700K, 16GB 3200MHz DDR4, GTX1070 OC 8GB, 1TB Samsung SSD for OS and P3D4.4, W10 64Bit, Corsair H115i Water Cooling
August 14, 201312 yr Waypoint names are limited to 5 characters, this is not a waypoint name, it is one of the many lat/long formats accepted by the FMC... The waypoint names are not limited to 5 characters by Boeing or by the FMC, it is an international standard set by the ICAO... Cristian Caicedo
August 14, 201312 yr Author Thank you ecuflyer, is this also valid for the 737NGX? You learn something new every day. Cheers Tim Regards Barra i7 7700K, 16GB 3200MHz DDR4, GTX1070 OC 8GB, 1TB Samsung SSD for OS and P3D4.4, W10 64Bit, Corsair H115i Water Cooling

August 14, 201312 yr Commercial Member Any help would be appreciated. Little hint for you: Pay attention to the INIT REF page when you're giving the plane its initial position. When you select the current GPS position, note how it looks in the scratchpad. You can't get any better direction of how the plane wants the data than from the plane itself! Kyle Rodgers

August 15, 201312 yr Commercial Member Thank you Kyle You're welcome. It's something I always had to remind myself because each aircraft manufacturer generally has its own way of doing things (format-wise), so if you just look at how the position is entered on the INIT page you can't go wrong.
