Install sheild 1628 error

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Today i decided to uninstall FSX and re install it. However it seems i cant re install it.

every time i go to install it the installation starts for about 5 seconds then i recieve the error message.

Anyone be able to help me thank you

Seems like your InstaShield  or other Windows components might be corrupted.

I would first run a Registry Scanner Fixer (CCleaner is free, I use PC Tools Registry Mechanic but it’s not free.), then I would run a windows Cleanup and probably a CheckDisk

Also run the FS-X installer in Administrator Mode.

If it keeps failing then try the suggestions on this page:  Microsoft Games: InstallShield Error Messages

Hope that helps!

Ramón.

Hey Ryan,

I had the same problem trying to install a fresh copy of FSX a few months back on a new machine. Spent days googling the problem, but in the end I managed to fix it. The trick was to create a new user in Windows and install there (as administrator) - worked fine then.

Cheers
