Its been awhile since Ive done a whole reinstall of FSX, I like to do that at least once a year. But since I am willing to go through all that trouble I was going to update to windows 8. Is it safe at this point with most addons? Last I heard LVLD 767 which I own and fly alot is not. Most likely will not use that aircraft once the PMDG 777 comes out. But PMDG 747 I use quite often too along with ifly 737. Some other sceneries I own are FSDreamteam, Opus, Ultimate traffic, GSX.. FS Global amd UTX USA and Europe. There is a whole forum dedicated to W8 topics here. That's where I would begin searching.

Just make sure you have a full version of FSUIPC and be prepared to use that as your sole source to configure your controls.

Honestly, with 8.1 on the horizon it's a pretty risky business.

Not sure. I haven't found a reason to make the switch yet myself. What do you hope to gain with W8? Just curious.

Not looking to gain anything with windows 8 but i thought since im going to do a full reinstall of fsx, this might be a good time to upgrade. I know windows 8 has its issues and I have it one one of my laptops so Im pretty used to using it and getting around windows 8. My only issue is fsx compatibility. Some say even better performance? Not sure how true that is.
