RC4 & CTD

Featured Replies

Does anybody else have this issue. When I go from window mode to full screen using RC I get CTD, when I'm not using RC I get no CTD, I can use any addon I like all together no CTD only when using RC! can anybody advise why. I do have the system32 dll in fsx.

Cheers Rod.

You are talking about the window from RC within the FS view, correct? FS is OK in a window but not in full screen.

The RC overlay is generated directly by fsuipc. Make sure advdisplay.dll is not in your modules folder.

I for now assume you are not running on a networked client computer to an FS host computer using WideFS.

If you are a new user using fsuipc from the RC distribution you must update fsuipc (and makerwys.exe) from:

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/

If you update makerwys be sure to run the RC scenery rebuild again.

I looked at your profile and you are on Win 7 32 or 64. You also have a lot of simultaneous applications running. I would first check your video driver to insure it is up-to-date. Look for certified drivers at:

http://www.guru3d.com/files/index.html

and check their comments about your current video driver.

Try running just RC and a default aircraft for now. You do not state your main memory capacity. Also some users have problems with DX11. Use DX10. In a command window type dxdialog.exe to get information and tests. To get to a command window start/run/cmd.exe I believe.

I have seen this complaint regarding other applications in FS. You might wish to check the hardware forums here.

You can also login with admin rights and bring up the control panel. Click on Admin Tools and then Event viewer. Clear the event log, run FS and RC to generate the error, and then go back to event viewer to see what Win errors were generated.

Thanks Ron, I'm running W7 64bit, new driver updates, cleared the event log, updated the markerways and rebuilt the RC scenery again and also installed the latest FSUIPC version tried it a number of times from window mode to full screen with RC running and no CTD so far so good, thanks for the advise.

Cheers Rod.
