November 5, 200421 yr Hi all!Is there any way how to display the vertical speed (fpm) of the plane at touchdown? ...Wanted to practice smooth landings...I thought it might be displayed if you click on FS's flight analysis (which is not bad, btw) but found nothing. Also tried searching the lib for a programm and found nothing :-(Thanks for any help,Stefan Bergert
November 5, 200421 yr How about looking at your VSI??? Otherwise that last part of the flare is a purely visual manuever. If your even close to having a smooth touchdown your usually less than 2-300fpm.Hornit
November 5, 200421 yr there is an addon program called FS FlightKeeper that acts as a sort of "Black Box" when activated before your flights. It keeps track on tons of information for each flight you make while using it and after the flight you can review all that information and even create a report. One of the tidbits of info that it will keep track of IS your vertical descent rate at touchdown as you mentioned...i would suggest taking a look at their website as the list of info it tracks and all of its features are too much to list here.http://www.molitor-home.de/FS/FLKeeper/Dave Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
November 5, 200421 yr thanks for the info...will have a look :-)@Hornet: I know that the flare is a visual manuever.I didn't say that I look on the VSI during flare but I said I would like to know my accurate VS at touch down. When flying with PS13 there is a APPR profile window showing all info.BTW: When flying a CATIII appr, the flare is not a visual manuever (only the PF will be heads-up while the PNF will monitor the instruments) ... ;-)Thanks again,Stefan
