Maybe the anwser is simple, but how do you know how far you should push your aircraft in the pushback menu? You can enter a distance, but how do you know what the right distance is at a particular airport?

I don't use the NGX pushback feature, instead use either AES or GSX.

 

However you could use the length of the aircraft (For example, on the -800, 40metres) to judge how far you need to push etc.

As per the above post  guess work  on how  far  you enter in the fmc,  than your most likely be under or  over the distance you want.  So either get  aes or  gsx  which will  put  you on the correct push back distance etc.  Gsx  is  a one of  payment  and works on all fsx airports,  where as aes doesn't work on all airports you need to buy the airports  where you want  the push back to work

if your having problems with gsx post your issues in the fsdt gsx forum your  sure  to get your issue  resolved quickly

Definately try and fix your GSX issues. The folks over at FSDT are usually very quick in helping you get it up and working.

Yes, I prefer GSX.

No  trial and  error  since different  parking  spots have  different  distances you want  to push back, sure that some  one  will come  in and  give  you how  to work it  out  using  charts  but this takes time  and effort
