Why this glitch in all CS727 metal paints?

Featured Replies

Not to pick on this particular repainter, they all have the center engine white when the rest of the plane is chrome or bare metal.

Is there a fix for this?

Note white top part of center engine inlet area. They all are like this.

It's clearly not a glitch as the areas are textured and therefore are able to be bare metal'd. I'm not that familiar with the type but it certainly seems to be intentional, see the following:

Presumably those areas are not aluminium, haven't seen any photos with the particular area as shown in the repaint thought!

Edit: Even photos of this specific aircraft show areas where they are not aluminium but they don't relate to the areas in the repaint!

So either it's depicted at a different stage in it's life where these areas were like that, it's lack of research or something to do with the paintkit makes it impossible to do (which I'm pretty sure is not the case).

I don't have photoshop so I can't look at the repaint kit to see what the cause is for the inaccurate liveries. :(

Not a huge deal but found it interesting the errors are all the same.

You can get Photoshop CS2 for free these days, GIMP also does a reasonable job :)

Thanks for info. I tried GIMP but it would not open the paint kit files. Perhaps my version of GIMP is too old.

I agree with Morgan.

It seems to be intentional , nevertheless the position of the no-bare part gives the impression to be incorrect.
