August 26, 201312 yr I have recently added MSE2 California. I am attempting to identify the source of what appears to be a blank overlay of the the former Tustin Marine Corps Air Station (KNTK). Please see the images below. The area of concern is circled in the first image, which is an FSX/MSE2 screenshot. As you can see, there are large non-textured (no details) areas where there should be blimp hangars and detailed texture, The blank area to the lower right in the circle also covers a portion of an adjacent shopping center. The IRL appearance of the area taken years before the adjacent shopping area was developed is shown in the second image. The blimp hangar area still appears much like you see here. I have deselected BlueSky's SoCal scenery in FSX Scenery Library and in addition to that it is also moved to below MSE2 California South. I do have (Mateusz "Matt" Stabryla) MK Studio's nearby KSNA John Wayne/Orange County airport installed and positioned above MSE2 California South. However I do not believe it is creating the blank areas. I also one time downloaded a 1VNF_KNTK.zip file which contains one zipped .bgl file named KNTK_ADE_VA.bgl. I do not believe I ever extracted this .bgl file, and a search of my entire C:\....\MIcrosoft Games directory tree turns up no instances of this stated .bgl file, either literally or with use of wildcards. I also cannot find any reference to it in my FSX Scenery Library entries. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. August 27, 201312 yr I have MSE V2 installed and see the same thing. I don't own anything related to Blue Sky. A weird thing happened when I selected KNTK and to start out at the active runway. I was sitting way off the runway pointed in another direction. Just wanted to let you know it does not appear to be any issue with your installation. As to how it could be fixed, no clue. August 27, 201312 yr Author Thanks Jim. I have as I mentioned MSE v2, BlueSky's So Calif, Aerosoft's Los Angeles X (which provides detail in that area, and the MK Studio's nearby KSNA. I have tried all combinations I can think of in layering and deselecting these sceneries both individually and as groups and cannot seem to get rid of the blank areas. I thought it was perhaps a scenery exclude file somewhere but its like looking for a needle in a haystack. I believe I even deselected all of the above add-ons to no avail. I am now wondering if it is in Ultimate Terrain? Only I have it below all of the above mentioned sceneries and separately MSE V2 took care of the Ultimate Terrain issue with the Salton Sea being a deep hole in the ground? Go figure. The only scenery that gives me the blimp hangars at KNTK is the Aerosoft Los Angeles X, but the blank pads are still present. Thanks for responding with that information. August 29, 201312 yr IMHO, MSE V2 is really messed up in the LAX area. I have FSDT KLAX installed and it fits well in the MSE V2 California scenery but I was looking along the beaches on both sides of the airport and light textures of buildings and streets are super-imposed on the sand as if the textures were somehow duplicated over each other. As I stated, I have no other California scenery installed in that area other than FSDT KLAX and the MSE V2 scenery. I did have MegaSceneryX SoCal installed but it has been disabled in the Scenery Library. Maybe things like this will be fixed in an update. August 30, 201312 yr Author Jim, If you are talking about the blank pads at Tustin I believe I deselected all add on sceneries I have for that area and the blank pads were still there. I unchecked BlueSky's So Cal, MSE2 Calif South, Aerosofts Los Angeles X, and the KSNA add on I mentioned. I did not uncheck Ultimate Terrain. I was clearly looking at default scenery and those gray patches were still there. I suspect Ultimate Terrain in this case. August 31, 201312 yr That clears it up. In regards to the anomaly outside of LAX as shown in Post #4 above, I activated MegaSceneryX SoCal and that fixed the problem. I also got night lighting throughout the area. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! Best regards, Jim I've noticed this behaviour with MSE2.0 TX as well, and was away to post about it to see if it was something wrong with my installation. I suspect that its stock FSX scenery that is shining through in some texture tiles that include water.

I suspect that its stock FSX scenery that is shining through in some texture tiles that include water. I concur. If you look at the faint scenery bleed through you will see that it is on a diagonal pattern to the coastline. Revert your scenery library selections to just default scenery for Southern Calif and go fly around Orange County, Irvine in particular, just east of KSNA and you will find the default scenery also has a peculiar diagonal pattern as surface streets come to the two primary interstate highways, I-5 and I-405. These beach images from near KLAX look nearly the same.
