Inflight Radar screen and Tow Truck

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of any files for the following for Fs2004?1. A Radar Scope file to display AI aircraft while you are flying.2. A tow truck to pushback aircraft at the gate. I see there are "gauges" to assist in this but I'm looking for the tow vihicle like in Lago for FS2002. Thanks Jerrycwo4

Second try for an answer. Thanks Jerrycwo4

Hi JerryWell, I don't know about a radar scope - but there is a great pushback facility, though without the actual bitmap of the truck. However, the gauge itself is brilliant and can both push you back and tow you forward. But the best part of it: YOU do the steering while being towed! Look for ATNGAU11.ZIP here at AVSIM (or, if the name is not correct, files by Etienne Martin). I know that Etienne and some other guys are working on a pushback truck with a visual truck, but I don't know the status.HTH & BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH

Here's a picture of the radar i'm using. It's F16.GAU made by Eric Marciano . Very very good freeware. I don't remember where you can download it dough.

Ok here's the picture... something went wrong on my previous message

The "radar gauge" that shows AI traffic is called a TCAS. Search the libs for that. A few versions are around. For those who care, a TCAS is a passive radar frequency receiver that receives the data responses of the transponders in other aircraft when excited by ATC radar. I note this because unlike airborne active radar, TCAS can be a non-directional receiver that can see in all directions so therefore if the display is set up can see aircraft behind the plane as well.Eric's is one of this type. Those contemplating getting Ultimate Traffic2 will get a TCAS gauge to install of a nice size for GA.

At present there are no pushback tugs available to operate as one did in FS2002. There are tugs that come with specific aircraft (like Ariane), but they are built into the aircraft model and will not work with any other aircraft.

Thanks for the answers, I'll try both of them soon and I'll keep watching for the tow truck version. jerrycwo4
