Windows 7 SP1 corrupts FSX

Featured Replies

HI Folks - I recently updated my Windows 7 64 bit os with Windows 7 SP1.    When I try to start FSX I get a message that a problem was encounteredf and it can't start FSX.   No further details are given.   I googled the probelm and found many others had the same problem, but couldn't find a good solution.

Has anyone here had or heard of the problem and how to fix it?

Thanks   Howard

No, I haven't. And SP1 doesn't corrupt anything.

You should always have your Windows up to date. SP1 was released a long time ago, you should've gotten it back then. Try reinstalling FSX AFTER installing SP1.

The thing about Windows 7 is that it is way ahead of it's time when you consider a program like FSX.  You need to ensure every single Windows 7 update is applied before installing FSX.  Uninstall FSX as Diego recommends and you need to follow this guide to the letter.

It will help immensely. Good luck!
