Payware military jets?

Featured Replies

Hi all,I'm looking for a good payware military jet. Which do you guys gals consider must haves when it comes to payware fighter jets. I have the Captain Sim F-104 and really enjoy it. Is there Mig 21 any good in FS 2004? I've looked at Lago's site and they seem to have quite a few to chose from. Just wondering what you guys gals recommended. Thanks,Hawk

My Fav. Military jet is Lago's Tornado. Excellent aircraft, the F-16 is great as well. can't go wrong with either.

Captain Sim's MiG is great.Project Sierra Hotel's T-37 is in a league of its own... its flight modeling, systems modeling, and documentation all set the standard. You might want to check it out:http://www.t37sim.com/Ken

This was the one I was about to recommend as well!Nothing to shoot with, but a great military trainer!

Agreed - the Tweet is awesome - it was developed more as a procedures trainer for Air Force cadets than a commercial product for simmers, and that shows in the attention to detail and in particular the documentation, which is fabulous. My only nit with it is that some of its functions are not controllable by GoFlight hardware.I haven't tried any other military payware airplanes, as it seems silly to put one in a sim in which you can't blow stuff up 8^) .Dave Blevins

Whoops, I lied - I also have Capt Sim's L39 Albatros, which was also a very nice airplane. I say "was" because although it will work in FS2004, it was developed for FS2002. The Captain declined to update the aircraft with a virtual cockpit or true FS2004 compatibility, which is a shame... Just checked their site and the link to buy it is dead. I think it was ten bucks or so the last time I browsed the site, and it would've been a decent airplane for the price.Alphasim does a boatload of military airplanes - including the Lynx helicopter which looks nice in the screenshots - but I don't see much mention of them here on Avsim.Dave Blevins

It even moves at idle power and brakes applied.

Thanks for the replys guys. I'm checking them all out. :-) That Tweet looks FANTASTIC! I'll surely be getting it. I've also found a super A10 Warthog from Aerosoft, I'm sure that it's old news to you guys, but just in case here's the link.http://aerosoft-shop.com/product_info.php?products_id=64Well off to do some downloading. Thanks again,Hawk

The A-10 is one of my favorite military aircraft (fixed wing, anyway) - it's what I'd want to fly if I was tasked with blowing stuff up for a living. If the Aerosoft model was a little less expensive I might buy it, but it seems pricey to me.Who knows, I might get impulsive and buy it anyway some day, but I have LOMAC which has an A-10 too, and I've barely dug into that sim so far.dB.
