Having trouble posting comments in the forums

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just recently I have noticed that when I type comment, or start a new subject in a forum, I click the "Post" button and then get a blank screen with in the top left corner an error message. The last time this happened was this morning, I'm in the UK at about 07.50am. When I checked my post wasn't in my "My Content" so logged out and back in and it was. Now once when you posted a comment the post was seen immediately in the forum page.

This is quite frustrating as once or twice I have seen in the PMDG forum comments about "Please don't post comments more than once" when in fact I think what is happening people are posting, then getting this error message, thinking the post hasn't happened hit post again, then the next time they log in wow two posts! I have had this happen myself.

Anyway just wanted to let you know incase you weren't aware that there is some problem somewhere. It's not with my internet or anything like that as everything else is working fine, just a problem in the Avsim forums!

Thanks again for a great window of info into our hobby.

Happy Flying,

Dave Phillips.

Dave,

This all has to do with server load and the excitement over a recently released product.  When you click the post button, I can almost guarantee if you give it some time it will post.  It's when you click back, and press post again that we get duplicates.  We know it's busy, and aren't getting upset about this because it's human nature...  But thanks for being patient with our servers that are fully funded by donations and Tom's piggy bank!

Sincerely,

Chase

Hi Chase,

Thanks for the reply, I can understand what your saying as mainly my posts are on the PMDG forum, and I bet that one has been red hot the last week or two.

Just wanted to run it past someone in case it was a more serious problem.

Happy Flying,

Dave Phillips.
