Possibly a dumb 737 NGX question

Featured Replies

Think about picking up the PMDG 737 to complement my QW Avro.  I'm guessing the answer is yes, but just wanted to confirm.  The 737 is fully flyable from the virtual cockpit yes?  I will occasionally pop up a 2d panel to do some things like programming the FMC for example but I just want to make sure all the main things can be done from the VC if desired.

yes the VC works as it should 99.999% working like the real thing. There is one or two things they left out like locking the cabin door from what i read ( i have never tried locking the doors )

Hey Flyinion,

PMDG is the gold standard for fsx aircraft. You will really enjoy it if you are at all interested in a hi fidelity, complex simulation of the 737 NG.

I still fly it so much even though I've had it from day 1.

Go for it!

Thanks guys.  Yeah I'm not worried about stuff necessarily like the cabin door locking.  I guess where I was coming from is that QW for instance mentions that if it a feature is present on the 2D panels that it is present in the VC as well.  So I was trying to make sure that PMDG didn't put something on a 2D panel that wasn't in the VC.  I know PMDG makes really good stuff so I figured it wasn't an issue (hence why I titled the post the way I did lol), but I just had to make sure.

Well, I just "went for it".  Just finished the tutorial 1 flight, wow!  Nice step up.  I love my QW Avro and it definitely got me back into more advanced planes and FMC/CDU usage and I think prepped me for the NGX (one of my intentions from the beginning with the Avro).  I can see now why the NGX is so popular.  It really is an amazing machine.  Now I'm looking forward to the 777.  Unfortunately that will have to wait a bit as I KNOW I need to build my new machine first. I lost a few FPS on the ground and low altitude in dense AG areas like EGKK and EHAM on the tutorial (FTX Global, normal AG) but had a solid 30fps in flight at altitude.
