VR 2026 Where are we and what do you recommend?
Purr replied to Hamish100's topic in Virtual Reality (VR) for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)What kind of computer and gpu specs do you have? I heard that the pimax is pretty heavy on hardware. Also what kind of sweet spot do you find with the pimax vs quest 3

Phenom 300 soon? (released 18 May 26)
This surprises me about the response. Taxi behaviour is great but takeoff roll and landing rollout are totally not right. Even with sensitivity risked back in also finding it very unbalanced. There is no way the real aircraft will have wing drop and that kind of roll axis movement on takeoff or landing. Feels more like a tail dragged about to ground loop. There must be some way to adjust this. Otherwise I found the flight model to be what I expected from this type of aircraft—actually very predictable and lovely to fly. Anyway definitely want to add my comment to signal this is a thing. No jet time but I am a pilot.

FSR4 is out. Some say it beats TAA and DLSS
Would be great if someone could do a step by step walk through using MSFS and optiscaler. I’ve tried but don’t see the option for 4.1. In addition we need instructions for after installing what to select on the menus in MSFS graphics settings bf and what to set in the “insert” optiscaler in game menu please.

FSLTL FR24 Live Traffic Injection Ends . - Suggestions ?
Is MSFS live traffic improving and are there active plans to further develop model matching etc.? It seems like maybe a viable option but lots of incorrectly displayed models and livieries even though I have AIG fully installed. Some airports are not bad but it's still very inaccurate. Or is this whole area basically dead in the water and ASOBO isn't interested?

Aerosoft releases update for their A346
Uh...yeah okay. I guess people who haven't had good frame rates so far with the product might be those who care. Maybe your line would be a great marketing slogan for new aircraft: "Who cares about what the frames are. Just jump in our plane and fly and enjoy."

Aerosoft releases update for their A346
How are frame rates with this update? I haven't really used it much since purchase because it felt very heavy on frames compared to A340-300. I understand this is due to the complexity of this product, just curious if FPS are improved for others with the updates since release?

For those who will miss the FSLTL injector....
I'm a bit confused here...so if I let MSFS control the traffic but I have AIG models installed, they will fly flightplans? I was under the impression that forever circling aircraft, low passes over the runway but never landing, etc. is part of what happens no matter what unless using something like BATC or SI.

MSFS Developer Stream starting soon
Will have to watch the livestream but this is truly disappointing. I was thinking yesterday that we're not going to see any change to weather until the next version of MSFS ? (2028)? I think they've decided it doesn't matter. I just don't understand how weather and particularly cloud depiction can be seen as so relatively unimportant. They are absolutely critical to the pilot.

PMDG B737-700 Released
Any reports so far on how it compares to the 737-800 currently available in MSFS 2024 re: sounds, graphic upgrades? I watched the videos which looked good but curious for actual user experiences so far!

it reall does work !! (50xx series card users)
I have an AMD Radeon 7900XTX (24G) and it's been great but obviously it doesn't benefit from the DLSS updates and dynamic framegen discussed in this thread. I've lately been having loads of stutters even though I haven't changed much in my settings (not on the beta). It feels like in the last month stutters are really common, especially when panning around the cockpit. I know this isn't unusual but I'm wondering is it better to have a card like mine with huge VRAM or better to get a 4 or 5 series RTX GPU to take advantage of the framegen stuff?

Kodiak 100 (MS2024)...Is it over?
Holy moly that is a crazy takeoff. Demonstrates the power in the Kodiak. Does seem unnecessarily unsafe though with such a high angle of attack so low to the ground. But then I guess that's maybe the point of the video to be show-offy. Nice cockpit video, I really loved the low rumble of the turbine while at idle on the ground, maybe a bit more bass need for the MSFS version! Subsequently, with some rudder adjustment I found it better on takeoff but it seemed like a similar issue to the PC12 that went on and on. If you don't rotate at the right speed (eg. max 65 knots), and then try to rotate, it goes crazy and you get a wing tip into the runway and crazy uncontrollable yaw. (and I'm not talking about Vr at 120kts for example). Still testing tho...but otherwise I really like it.

Kodiak 100 (MS2024)...Is it over?
I'm enjoying the Kodiak and would say it's an improvement in many ways. However, take offs are wild and nearly uncontrollable. Rudder sensitivity (and consequently nose-wheel steering) is really sensitive. In addition, cross-winds are resulting in the airplane nearly starting to tip and bank in the takeoff roll (even with full opposite aileron into the wind). I'm not sure if this is the ground friction model or what but they are roller coaster takeoffs. I have my trims for rudder and elevator set correctly, weight and balance is normal and within limits cg. Anyone else have this? Another note is that rudder and elevator trim are ridiculously fast, so it is very easy for the trim to become an oscillating "chase". Doesn't seem to be a way to slow the trim rate. I don't want to reduce effectiveness, but rate. Any ideas in the flight model.cfg for this?

Why Did I Wait So Long...
But wait--how do you use FSLTL in a workable way with 2024? Isn't it planes still flying all over the place and circling the airport in chaos? Has this changed?

Upcoming Carenado King Air 200
Same here. Tried mixture, condition lever assignments, nothing. Honeycomb bravo. Anyone else with this figure it out? I did a very short flight and found the model not too bad, with some tweaks for sensitivity required. I do think at idle there is waaaay too much thrust being produced. But the beta is effective. Brakes feel very “grabby” and will give the pilot and passengers whiplash. Sounds are okay, pretty standard Carenado fare. I just needed some filler until blacksquare gets here with theirs since I think that is still quite a ways off. My suggestion is get the carenado in a sale it would be okay. But let’s just say they are maintaining their “business model” of half baked aircraft. I know it gets stated every time but with years of experience you would think someone working there would say “let’s get a couple of great systems and flight modelling people on board and become a premiere addon maker, making more money.” My god even try that with one aircraft as an experiment. It’s weird they have such diligence and expertise in physical modelling and textures but so don’t care about anything else. I guess it’s an idea of what’s the minimum work to make money. Not everyone in the hobby works from passion I guess.

Official Aerosoft-Toliss A340 trailer and livestreams of it
Yup you’ve got it in reverse. Have to put it in drive!

BlackSquare Caravan Professional out
I really like it and I also agree with your statement here. One thing that felt not quite developed is the engine sounds, particularly lack of bass and also the beta lacks depth. Makes it seem like a small prop up front, which is not the case. Feel like there is a bit more polish needed on sounds and the overall feel is a bit...yes...flat somehow. Wll have to fly her more to get more specific. But hopefully BS is going to carry her forward with a bit more shine.

MSFS connection issues--cannot even load flight
Figured it out....win32/systems/drivers/etc hosts file. delete file contents then save empty hosts, then fire msfs up again. No idea why this issue occurred.

MSFS connection issues--cannot even load flight
Hey everyone, I was on SU4 and elected not to proceed to SU5 beta to keep things steady. I've never had this issue but all of a sudden I'd get the forever spinning blue circle when loading a flight (any aircraft, anywhere). Couldn't even exit without ctrl-alt-delete. Thought maybe it was a win11 issue, no updates, multiple reboots, same issue. Reinstalled (via steam). Still same thing. Checked my internet connection and it is perfectly fine with all other software, speedtest shows everything is normal (and high speed). Once in a blue moon I had this issue but it seemed related to a user spike on the MSFS servers at certain times but now I can't even load a flight. I think I read somewhere that sometimes MSFS screws up wifi / internet settings but not sure what is going on. Help! Thx

BlackSquare Caravan Professional: Update By Nick Cyganski
I would really like a B1900 with the wide range of avionics that they may have, from ancient pure analog to partial glass. Bigger and a bit heavier than the king airs and still so many of them around. Hoping for it since a lot of the aircraft would perhaps have close similarities to the larger King Airs and so maybe would not be quite as much from scratch?? There are still many in service around the world!

SU5: What’s on your wishlist?
Clouds and weather...graphically weather always looks the same: layer of cumulus over and over. Graphical depiction of different cloud types is so critical to immersion.

New - Seafront Simulations Global Shipping 24
This sounds like a really good add on….is there a roadmap for future areas and ship updates?

New - Seafront Simulations Global Shipping 24
Are they adding new ships though or is it all generics same ships over and over?
