September 13, 201312 yr In general, one thing I find I am missing in terms of simming is the ability to simulate a hard landing vs a soft landing. The Problem: From my knowledge, even the latest and greatest packages are missing the ability to simulate this. Background Research: The closest that comes to it is Accu-Feel, but from viewing the videos on hard vs soft landing, although the sound changes (louder/stiffer/harder), from the incockpit motion there doesn't seem to be a great deal of difference. When it comes to view, EZDok is most superior. However, even EZDok doesn't seem to produce the kind of vibrations a hard landing has vs a soft landing (from a visual perspective). Personal Experience: I am gauging this from holding a camera trying to take videos of the touchdown in my airline flights. The point of touchdown it is very hard to hold the camera still using just arms, whereas a soft landing, one can roughly achieve to hold it still mostly. This is the kind of comparison I am referring to. The Questions So the question I am asking is, do you feel the same way/agree with my observations? And are there any existing process/packages that can enhance this effect? Thank you. Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
September 13, 201312 yr I suggest you try OPUSFSX. The camera system in this software provides a very nice, more real if you will, visual presentation of aircraft movements. I have used Accu-Feel, Ezdok, and Opus. I believe Opus to provide the most realistic visual representation of the three. Regards, Danny Danny

I downloaded their demo, and found that their weather service is also more superior and resource friendly compared with AS2012. However, many of the more superior softwares couple with AS, so not many of a chance there really... Would you say Opus provides the capability visually alone to differential (if no sound was present for example) the strength of the landing? Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
September 14, 201312 yr Yes, to a fair degree. The roughness of the landing is represented visually, such that, one can see a difference in how hard the landing was. Danny Danny
