September 16, 201312 yr First of all I didn't know where else I should put this thread so I just put it here (meaning adminbot can move it anywhere else) I tried searching on the internet but no luck... It annoys me every time I have to reset/reconfigure my controls every time I restart FSX(I use my new saitek's buttons for engines, lights, autopilot etc.)... How do you save the controls? any help would be appreciated.
September 16, 201312 yr Do you exit FSX via the "close" symbol in the upper right corner of the main screen? Because from my experience, FSX does not save the changes if you exit your FS session in any other way (but I'm not sure about that, maybe that's a wrong perception). Same applies for CTDs and OOMs (and that's for sure). Florian
September 16, 201312 yr Windows 8? FSX seems to like to not update the .cfg file on closure but does so most of the time (follow FloG's instructions above - or close via the menu selections). Once you have a saved FSX.cfg file with the correct settings make a copy of it - if you loose you settings you can replace the new (lost settings) .cfg file with the saved version. Update your saved version periodically so it reflects any recent changes made. September 17, 201312 yr closing while inflight (while still pressing upper right X) But FSX seems not to treat that as a "proper" shut-down. The only way to save your settings is to exit the flight, go to the main screen and close FSX from there (or do what TXHills suggested) Florian
