Gerald, I have no nagging and strict checklists checked.  However the FO still says annoyingly stupid things out of context.  To use an example of what people are talking about, even with those things checked, old Trav will append such things as "You can call me Trav if it makes ya feel more comfortable..of course" to acknowledgements, instead of just saying Roger, or Got that.  Those types of strange and out of context phrases happen despite checking those options.  I can't speak for the European voices, because I haven't used them enough to become accustomed to their own mannerisms,  but if we could just get rid of a few of those extraneous things like that, I think it would go a long way.

When he reminds you his name it's because he would have heard the name of another co-pilot.

 

Example, flying with Trav and requesting his attention by saying "Andy". He will kindly remind you his name first.

 

The issue of course is the speech engine being very eager to recognise very short words like first names.

 

So maybe that part should be sacrificed or at least only allowed once.

At the beginning MCE would drive me around the bend with all the talking and banter etc... The procedures (like in the Majestic Dash) are great but the talking.... The nagging and general talking during flight in a complex aircraft is simply a no go. Using those switches/mce.ini settings and also editing the procedure flows (VoiceScripts) being given to us (you can edit any VoiceScript) allowed me to reduce the bla to what I personally require to perform well. It takes a bit of reading and work but the result is pleasing to me. MCE is a very versatile tool and can be customized quite a bit once you find out where to do it (RTFM ).

FS++, the "Ma names Trav" thing is one of the more annoying behaviors, but there is another that I think detracts from the sense of professionalism.  Here is the example.  I asked him to give me the V2.  He responds "Well, it's one hundred twenty seven knots...of course...HAH"  Why does he add that?  I wish he wouldn't!

The thing is, I didn't call him by any name whatsoever.  I simply asked "What is our V2 speed"  and the "of course, hah" thing gets appended to an otherwise valid response.  It isn't just with that particular question, it happens with a lot of things.
