September 22, 201312 yr Bought DX10 Scenery Fixer from the flightsim store yesterday. The download does not have the user manual. Am I alone or am I supposed to download it from somewhere else. This is the first time I intend to explore the DX10 option. Now that I have the fixer, can someone guide me on what care should I take before installing the fixer just in case I have to revert to DX9 later Regards Teddy
September 22, 201312 yr The manual is included, Teddy - it's an Adobe .pdf document, and it will be in the installation folder, along with the Toolbox.exe and the Controller.exe. Right-Click on your red Controller Icon and select "Open file location". It will take you to it. September 22, 201312 yr Author Thanks Paul. This probably means that I need to install the fixer to get access to the manual. Please help me with a small walk through about the installation. The first question is about the location of the installation. Is it wanting me to point to the FSX folder? The installation programs prompts up C:\Program Files (x86)\DX10SceneryFixer. But the installer also says - Please ensure this is your main Flight Simulation Installation Folder. This is bit confusing to me. Please clarify. Secondly, do I have to backup any other file other than the FSX.cfg before installing the DX10 Fixer? How do I revert back to DX9 in case I am unhappy with DX10? Your help is highly appreciated. Ted
September 22, 201312 yr Commercial Member Yes looking at the text in the flight sim store wrapper it is a little confusing. I will try to get that changed. It is asking you for a directory to install DX10SceneryFixer into. This can be anywhere and on any drive. The only backup you need is of fsx.cfg The DX10Controller has a button to switch back to DX9 at any time you like. You can also of course fully uninstall it. My FSX Analysis Blog
