September 22, 201312 yr Has there been any thought given to additional 2D pop up panels in future service packs? I'm thinking maybe the overhead and the throttle area? The current ones are just fine, but those two areas are used frequently and having to go through 2 or 3 other areas to get to them is a bit of a pain. Not earthshaking, just a little inconvenient. Jack Fentress Sorry for the triple. An accident. Jack Fentress
September 22, 201312 yr If i remember correctly Tabs said that every clickspot they add lowers fps so no more of them coming.. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/421025-pmdg-asking-for-second-hidden-cdu-clickspot/?p=2797813 Mikael Leinonen
September 22, 201312 yr Author Mikael........... Thanks for the response. Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought there had been something brought up about this, but after searching, I couldn't find anything. Hence my question. Too bad really. It might make things a bit "smoother" operations wise. But..... what is, is! (Sounds like a quote from Bill Clinton) Jack F.
September 22, 201312 yr Author Mikael.......... After having gone into the link you supplied regarding click spots, I found it surprising that so many folks are still kind of uncomfortable with the limited 2D functions on the 777 while being absolutely "thrilled" with the aircraft itself. I take away from that, that the idea of only a VC system is still not comfortable with a great deal of PMDG simmers although they love the aircraft itself (myself included). Seems to me that it would be a plus if compromises could be at least thought about in the future. After all, Flight Sim is not set in stone. Basically, I've been a 2d guy since the beginning, but have learned to use the VC (or 3D) reluctantly because of an aircraft that I wanted and came to like (J 41, 737 NGX and the Aerosoft Airbus 320/321 Extended). However, my flying pleasure would be better if I had a choice. That's it. Cocktail time here on the Island. Jack F.
September 23, 201312 yr If there is a view pre-set for it (which you get to by cycling the A key, or the view menu) then you can map it to the otherwise unused F10 key (or override the F11 or F12 keys) Check out this post for details: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/421182-is-the-pmdg-777-documentation-missing-important-panel-access-information/#entry2800786 Steve Caffey
