Is there a way of making the cold and dark state the default so that the aircraft will load in that state.   Currently the engines are running and I have to select cold and dark each time.

deleted  just re read your post, don't know  some  one will chime  in, if you can be like the ngx by going  in the fmc  shutting  down  everything  and than saving that panel state.

You can set a default startup panel configuration - just like in the NGX
