Can Gerrish's Trees Library be used in FS2004?

Featured Replies

Hello all :)Can you install Gerrish's Trees Library into FS2004? I see that it only mentions FS2002, although I have a hunch it might work in FS2004 - just want to make sure with you all...Its this one:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...D=Root&Cookie=1Thank you :)

Thanx Rick:)

This is what Gerrish mail says :"""FS2004 So FS2004 is out and well worth the upgrade if you have a powerful enough graphics card. It fully supports FS2002 scenery and is totally compatible with the existing versions of my Trees Library and the Autogen texture replacements. The only change is that the trees_0.bgl file for the Trees Library should be installed in scenerybasescenery (the new location of the "main" FS scenery file, instead of the former scenery), although the texture files still go in texture as before."""GerrishHope this helpshttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgPatrick/EBBR

That happens with default as well. Kodiak Island in Alaska is filled with floating trees. I read what caused it once, but can't remember exactly. It had something to do with mesh, I believe.Don

<< That happens with default as well. Kodiak Island in Alaska is filled with floating trees.>>Oh! Thats good to know then! Thought Id messed something up!Maybe theres a fix somewhere out there.Actually the only way I found the floating trees was when I was slewing around to check the scenery after installing the Alaskan Mesh upgrade...

This is from the readme for the FSGenesis 10m Yosemite mesh - I'm not sure, but I think this may have been intended for fs2002. First notice it doesn't specify the fs9.cfg file, which is where the changes would be made. Second, mine is already at the new numbers, and I don't remember changing it. But worth a look anyway, and it confirms Don's memory.OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION:The following settings may help with the "floating trees" problem:Find the following lines:TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=2.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.000000Change toTERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=5.000000TERRIAN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=8.000000
