737-800 short final speed/throttle problem

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have been having a little problem with the 737-800 on short finals, when at about 500ft. The vref set and speed matching it on auto throttle speed mode, the aircraft suddenly speeds up to about 20-30 knots above. Making the aircraft hard to regain control.

Anyone else have this problem?

It shows Spd mode, I am doing everything I have been doing when using the -700.

And what is your physical thottles posistion (If applicable)

I'm running AS2012 as well and it happens sometimes, also with the -600 and -700 models. No big deal for me though. On the very rare occasion it is about to get out of hands, I just disengage AP/AT and continue manually.

Still, I'd also be interested in the cause and a remedy.
