How do views work?

Featured Replies

FSX has 4 views with hotkeys F9-F12. Is there a way to assign hotkeys to other views such as flyby?

Or how about the tail view?

I've read several threads on this subject but they are all too obscure for me.

Thanks

Not that I'm aware of. In the end, I settled on OpusFSX, which gives you hotkeys for views. Its main purpose, however, is weather, and it does both exceptionally well. Like Ezdok, it also gives you the means to enable TrackIR per view.

I had a problem with Ezdok, and it didn't get any exposure at their site. Last dev response is ... I don't know when. To me, it looks like a dead end. OpusFSX support is fantastic. Go to their site and try out the demo. No need to commit before you're absolutely sure it does what you expect it to do, which in itself is fantastic.

Look into the cameras.cfg in the folder where the FSX.cfg is located.

Each entry has a line named "HotKeySelect=". A single digit number from 1 to 4 corresponds to the F9-F12 keys. "HotKeySelect=3" would mean that the view is activated with F11.

Assign hotkeys as you prefer, but make sure that each key assignment is unique.
