October 17, 201312 yr Hi, while investigating an OOM, I found missing textures via ProcMon. The names of these texture files are "lightbox3.bmp" and "europier.bmp". I assume that they are part of an object library which was used to make the scenery. Does anybody know where I can get these textures resp. the library they are part of? Many thanks in advance Best regards Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.

October 20, 201312 yr Author Thanks Jim! In the meantime, I also found "heata.bmp", but didn't find "europier.bmp". Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
October 20, 201312 yr I would not worry about not having that file. You ran Process Monitor and it showed "File Not Found". That happens a lot and does not necessarily mean it's required. You could try putting a dummy file in your scenery/texture folder named europier.bmp. If this is an FS9 file, you might be able to find it on your FS9 DVD. I don't think it is an FS9 made texture though and probably belongs to one of your European sceneries you might have installed. October 21, 201312 yr Author Hi, indeed ProcMon indicated an error "Name Not Found". Obviously, the file was requested by the Sharjah Add-on by Matthew Ministry. I asked because some forum members pointed to missing textures as cause for my recent OOM problems in this particular area. But as these OOMs have gone since I deinstalled some sceneries at completely different areas (as I stated in another thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/423711-scenerycfg-limitation-of-entries-below-999/), I think these missing textures aren't the problem - or better said, I can't prove it. I just wanted to complete my FS2004 setup, just in case... Thanks again and best regards, Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
October 23, 201312 yr I seriously doubt a missing texture would have caused your OOMs. Look at the evidence.... you were running FS9 while running the Process Monitor in the background. Did it crash with an OOM when it said "File not Found"? No. Of course not. You actually have a fairly decent computer system, especially for FS9. The only problem I see with it is that you have Windows XP Pro installed. It doesn't show whether you have the 32 bit or the 64 bit version installed but the 64 bit system would manage the memory better. In either case, as I recall, Windows XP can "see" up to 3.5GB which should be sufficient for fs9 as fs9 is GPU dependent. You might want to take a look at your virtual memory (page file) settings. I recommend setting it to "System Managed". Some people set their own page file and they run into major problems when they do if they are not truly computer literate. I'll take a look at the link you provided. Perhaps this was all discussed there. In that case, sorry! Best regards, Jim EDIT: Okay, looked at the link. I see where you disabled some scenery's and the OOM's stopped. This is why I recommend the utility Scenery Config Editor - http://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/ as this will allow you to enable only the scenery's that you will be using during a flightplan before you even start up FS9. October 24, 201312 yr Author Jim, thank you for your post. As I was pointed to a missing texture by some forum mates I didn't want to let something untried. As you have read, I myself supposed a kind of "scenery overloading" (my tests with several configurations made me believe that) but the community did rather not see it that way, especially one member reported of having more than 1,300 sceneries active at one time. Virtual memory is a point I already thought about. I have set it manually to a sufficient size for many years now an there were never problems. Thanks for the link to the Scenery Config Editor, this is the kind of thing I looked for. And in some months I will probably change to Win7 (I have XP 32 bit, indeed) and I think that will prevent running into the 2GByte gap. Thanks and regards!
