How do you completely remove CH hardware from Windows?

Featured Replies

My CH Throttle quad is acting up , particularly with Throttle #1 (second lever from the left on my setup).  I have tried to re-calibrate under windows but what is happening is that the range -16000 to 16000 is fine but from about 60% of the way to the full throttle position, the lever position gets stuck and then at then end it jumps directly to 16000.  I have reset to default and it works normally now but the issue is that the default numbers are off and the Throttles are not in sync at the same position.

So the question is how do you completely remove the device from windows so that I can start over with Windows recognizing a new device and installing the appropriate driver.  Note that I have not installed the CH drivers at all.

Sounds like you may have a dirty pot. I clean mine once a year with electronic contact cleaner. Black gunk comes out of them. never believed they are a high quality pots and Ch product won't sell replacement parts anymore. After 4 yrs and 1000's of hrs. My throttles are about worn out. Detents are gone and pots are crappy.

As far as removing. Can you go into controll panel\devices and remove them? I honestly have never done that. I have had the throttle for years and use the CH Products driver and FSUIPC. Controls are disabled in FSX.

Thanks for the advice guys.  I have electronic contact cleaner that I use on my guitar so will do some maintenance this weekend and also try the clear calibration utility if needed.

update -

- I took apart the CH throttle quad and gave it a good cleaning with the electronic contact cleaner spray.  (did not help by the way, but can't hurt).

- Used the utility to completely delete the calibration (also did nothing).

- Finally realized this is a calibration anomoly.  My throttle #1 axis moves from -16000 at the bottom to 0 just a nanometer from the top, then at the very top immediately jumps to +16000.  I just adjusted the calibration to top out a zero and viola, all fixed.

- I will keep an eye on it and if the pots are fried I will just go out an buy 2 of the Saitek throttle units.  This CH quad is about 8 years old and has over 2000 hours of use so I really can't ask for much more out of it.

Does anyone know where to find the "CLEAR CALIBRATION UTILITY" ... the wingmanteam.com site is non operational ... thanks

Have read all the above inputs on the "calibration issues" ..... this is definitely a MICROSOFT issue ... I use FSUIPC and LINDA to bond and assign controls ...fantastic!!!! until ....  my CH Products Throttle quadrant started doing the same after I fiddled with the setup for the AEROSOFT AIRBUS ........ oh wow!  what chaos !!!!   I read all the inputs and just did a check on that control in XPLane 10.31   ...... what a dream .. absolutely normal and operating within specs ... no corrupt calibration issues ....no pot cleaning needed ....  each lever does what it is assigned to do so Win 7 64 + FSX = challenge to clear the calibration ..... I have been advised to clean out the Win registry ... the clear calibration utility does it .. wingmanteam.com site in non operational .. where to now??? anyone?? many thanks

Many thanks .... this utility together with DXTweak did the job ..... so good knowing there is a massive knowledge base and one does not need to nuke PC's
