October 28, 201312 yr Hi, How is it possible to remove certain colour schemes from an aircraft I download. Whilst I appreciate some developers put a lot of time and effort into making 20 schemes for a single aircraft, I really only want one or two and don't want my FSX aircraft selection folder to be as large. Which files do I delete within the aircraft folder to remove these schemes without creating any errors? Thanks FL630
October 28, 201312 yr You need to modify the aircraft.cfg of the plane you are looking to modify. The various liverymodels are defined under [fltsim.XX]. The aircraft.cfg file is located at Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\<YOURAIRPLANE>\aircraft.cfg vatsim s3
October 28, 201312 yr Back up stuff before you delete anything. Remove the corresponding texture folder - "texture.delta", for example. Remove the entry in the aircraft.cfg for the texture folder. Renumber your aircraft.cfg FS.com has some good tutorials for learning your way around FS. This one shows you how to add aircraft: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?2064-How-ToInstall-FSX-Aircraft-Liveries Just do the reverse. MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
October 28, 201312 yr Author I understand, thanks. I knew which folder to delete, but I get a little lost when it comes to .cfg files. I'll do the reverse of an installation. Many thanks
October 29, 201312 yr Simplest way is just put a ## in front if that paint's entrey in the aircraft.cfg... for example you'd have: ##[fltsim.xx]title=Douglas DC-3A DC-3 World Rally 2013 etc.... That'll remove the paint from the simulator without havingto renumber or delete anyting and you can reverse it in seconds if you want to being back a particular paint....
