Hi all

 

I get an alarm after normal landing when I try to disconnect the a/p.

Or if I use my joystick to turn the aircraft I have to silence the alarm and reconnect the a/p to get rid of the sound.

 

Any suggestion.

My autopilot disconnect is on my yoke..I normally press the button again after the alarm sounds. That usually takes care of the switchoff...

Thanks I do not have a button setup on my yoke so I just click the A/P switch on the MCP but I get the alarm. Still

 

I Just found this in this forum.

 

"With respect to the autopilot disconnect form of this sound, it takes two presses of the AP disconnect button/key to silence it. The second press must come at least 1.5 seconds after the first. Again, accurate to the real world airplane."

 

I am going to try it out and advise.

Don't click the Autopilot switch on the MCP to disconnect the autopilot. The "bar" one is an emergency disconnect (literally We tried to disconnect the autopilot and it didn't work, so now we are going to sever electrical power to it's control feeds - or - the Autopilot was on and pulled 6 G's, and the disconnect bar fell out of it's position due to G loads).

 

Either Assign a button to your joystick (best)

 

Or right click the "TOGA" screw on the lower left side of the MCP (the one you use to select takeoff thrust).

 

Or press Ctrl+Shift+Z.

 

Press one of the 3 options above, wait for 2 seconds, and press a second time.

 

The first time will disconnect the autopilot. The second click will turn off the alarm. if you click within 1.5 seconds, the second click won't turn off the alarm, and will instead do nothing at all.
