Fatal Error with Majestic Q400
Thanks Jim for the assistance. After following your instructions, I was able to get everything up and running again...This is one of the reasons I joined this forum.

Fatal Error with Majestic Q400
problem: Majestic aircraft "only" external view of aircraft appeared as skeleton...I was advised by Majestic support to erase everything from the "shader" and "shader10" folders, which I did... Then after rebooting fsx, the window where the aircraft appear was solid black...I could see the various aircraft so I chose the Majestic Q400...The screen was totally black, but I could hear the engines running... I did a repair with FSX deluxe 2 disks...When I attempted to access fsx, I received a fatal error and fsx closed...] Anyone know how to correct this problem...I am not a computer geek, but can follow instructions... exterior views
This post is concern with external views...I just re-installed the Majestic Dash Q400 professional...When I switch to external view the aircraft appears to look like a skeleton frame of an aircraft... Anyone have any ideas which file or setup is changing this appearance...I have no problems with the views of all PMDG, Blackbox, Aerosoft or Eaglesoft aircraft... I have attempted to delete the fsx.cfg file and start over, so any ideas out there...thanks

Windows 10 and FSX
All my fsx planes Pmdg, Majestic Q400, work with windows10... The only one that doesn't function is the Eaglesoft Citation x 750 version 2...It loads but locks up...I have search the internet for a solution to the problem...No luck...

reinstalling win7 without re-installing fsx ?
Pete, Wanted to reply and say thank you for your help...I downloaded the file you suggested, followed the instructions, and found after several hours that my computer files were so corrupted that I decided to do the upgrade procedure with my retail Windows 7 OEM dvd which came with the computer that was built from parts...That procedure worked successfully, and now I have a "new" OS...Then I took the SP1 disk from Microsoft and after several minutes installed... After all installations I actually reinstalled the FS2crew program for PMDG 737's...Worked to perfections...In fact, the flight attendant was giving instructions on top of Vatsim ATC in Salt Lake City...LOL I even purchased fs2crew for the Aerosoft Airbus extended version 1.16...Now I have to learn to fly the airbus..Has the fs2crew version been released for the PMDG777? FS2Crew was working great several years ago with my pmdg 737-800 Everyone says to re-install Windows7....Forget that idea...I will just have to ditch the program for the J41 and 737... There has to be a better way to solve this problem...I am no computer genius...So I will keep reading until someone comes up with a better idea to solve this problem.... Bob A

Weather Radar and DataUplink
OK, I am a very old man and all this is very, very confusing...I downloaded and setup my new 777-300 at the Cleveland airport after looking at the radar page on weather.gov...There was a severe weather front passing through the area with TS...OK, I downloaded a trial version of ASN weather and filed a flight plan from Cleveland to Chicago just to see the action...I turn on the radar by pressing the AUTO button L/R buttons on the pedestal and WX button above the ND..A few minutes into my flight, I started to see some action out the window to the West...In a few minutes I was flying through clouds...Nothing on the radar...I could see rain out the window, but still nothing on the radar...I adjusted the tilt and gain on both sides, still nothing... Someone said to reinstall FSUIPC I didn't do that, but did delete the fsuipc.ini file then re-started FSX.... So would someone out there tell me actually what I should do step by step to get this package to work...Another thing too...When I turned up the gain on the radar my fps dropped from 30 to around 5 then down to 1...At that point I couldn't even use the mouse pointer any longer the program started to freeze up...I am running this program ASN weather on the same computer as my FSX program. My computer runs the I-7 extreme processor with 12GB of ram plus the machine with parts built 4 years ago cost around 4,000 dollars...Without the weather radar running fsx runs very smooth around 30fps...but now nothing works right...Any help would be greatly appreciated... Take-Off Engine Settings
Sorry gents, but this is the first and last Carenado product I will waste my hard earned money on such a inferior product..First, I should have known better...The Prodigy 100 system is really outdated and difficult to program for flights on Vatsim...I will go back to the original fms systems of the PMDG and Eaglesoft Development group...The only way I can fly the Phenom100 on Vatsim with Sid and Stars is to use FSCommander program to control the course headings... There are so many little details that were overlooked...many mentioned in this forum...So I want waste your time...Yes, I agree with the comment, it would be nice to have the developer update this beautiful "candy" aircraft, but that will never happen...That's why PMDG has been so successful with their aircrafts because they spend so much time in development of a superior product before releasing...

Is it worth waiting for a patch/update?
I run the I-7E processor from Intel...12GB of Ram...I have my video card set for 30fps...The 777 on my computer runs like flying in the real world. I use GEX, and REX...The plane after 3 or 4 hours of flying will freeze in mid-air for about 5 seconds then return to normal...Towards the end of a long flight it will start freezing more. I am not a engineer or computer expert so really don't understand what is happening. It has never frozen to the point I had to restart...YET!... The one problem I have is running fsinn on Vatsim and the radio frequencies. I have read the manual page 84-86, and all the work-arounds. I still have to change the setting to "NEVER" in the simulator settings each time I start FSX...I have changed the config file, but that doesn't have any effect. Also, when entering the ILS runway such as 25L for KLAS in the arrival rwy in the FMS, it doesn't automatically change to the correct nav frequency, I have to do that manually......It always remains the same default freq. when 777 is loaded. Maybe, I miss read something. I had the impression that when you entered the ILS runway frequency the correct NAV frequency would be entered in the FMS. .All in all, I have owned "all" the airplanes that PMDG built...I have enjoyed flying from the J41, B747, 737, and now the 777 which is there best.

Alarm on autopilot disconnect
My autopilot disconnect is on my yoke..I normally press the button again after the alarm sounds. That usually takes care of the switchoff...

always get "no autoland" message
I have had this great airplane from 9/25/13...I used the Tutorial setup for my first flight...The plane flew flawless from take off to auto land...Since that first flight I have attempted to land at several airports in the U.S. without success using "auto land" These are the airports...KLAX, KLAS, KBOS using charts...In to Boston KBOS I was on the QUABN TWO arrival for ILS approach RWY 4R. Using the chart WINNI 4000', NABBO 3000', MILTT LOM 1700' LOC/DME 110.3 APP CRS 036 degrees...I was perfectly on the glide path as announced then about 0.9nm from touch down the announcement "NO AUTOLAND" Another situation and maybe I misunderstand, but I had the impression than when you entered the ILS RWY for example 25L for KLAS or 4R for KBOS that it would set the ILS radio frequencies automatically in the Radio/NAV of the FMS..The NAV freq remains at ILS 113.70/000 m unless I change manually. In the tutorial the Radio Altimeter was set at 50...Never used this in the PMDG 737 models, in the tutorial it worked, but not sure how to set it up for other airports...Somebody might enlighten me on this subject... Another issue, which is not related to autoland is that when I click with the mouse on the FMS or any other panel screen to enlarge into the bottom right corner of the screen it will show for 1ms the shape, however, it's solid black... I don't know if I received a corrupted download or not...

2D Panel
I still like the 2D Panel in PMDG 737 models, but being a super aircraft like the 777, suppose I can adjust... I have a problem or maybe I am not doing this incorrectly. With cockpit VC screen open, I use my mouse pointer, turns to + symbol in the middle of the FMS screen, which opens a black shape at the bottom right of the screen for about 1ms then disappears... As a matter of information, I followed all the settings for FSX in the Introduction manual..Also, I do have a HIGH END HARDWARE machine....I don't have this problem described above with the other PMDG model aircraft... Any help on this matter would be appreciated...I have attempted to search the entire forum without finding any answers... Bob FDX183

Speech recognition problem
I run "System Mechanic" on all my computer systems...I also was able to run voice training, and works with "wordpad"...However when attempting to set up for fs2crews then the message box appears: "Speech Recognition could not start because the language configuration is not supported." The recognizer language must match the language of the user interface. Please change the recognizer language in the Speech Recognition control panel under Advanced Options. (OK) I understand that Windows7 had issues with Speech Recognition on some systems...I was using Windows7 professional version.. I just upgraded to Windows8 professional and haven't attempted to use FS2Crews for the Jetstream series 4100 and the 737ngx....But at least the Speech Recognition panel is open at the top...Now, I will have to find a tutorial on how to use fs2crews with windows8...At least I haven't received any error messages after upgrading...

OS:Windows7 64bit professional... Attemping to run FS2Crews for PMDG 737NGX and PMDG J4100... The problem is this: When I attempt to configure for speech recognition I receive the following error message which I have by the way, seen similar problem "all over the internet" using a search engine. "Speech Recognition could not start because the language configuration is not supported." The recognizer language must match the language of the user interface. Please change the recognizer language in the Speech Recognition control panel under Advanced Options. (OK) I have opened "Advanced speech options.... Speech Properties....Speech Recognition...Language"Microsoft Speech Recognizer 8.0 for Windows (English-US) Recognition Profiles (X)Robert J4100 "I have read through the speech tutorial probably 5 or 6 times... That section works. USER Settings unchecked "Run Speech Recognition at startup" Unchecked "Review documents and mail to improve accuracy Checked "Enable voice activation" I assume you leave this box checked. The settings on the Speech Properties are setup just like the manual for fs2crews PMDG J41 Voice Version 1.02 page 9... What I need is a serious solution from someone who understands this problem from Windows7 prospective....Some people have advised changing some registery settings, which I did, that didn't work...So any computer person, can you help? what do you like in the new SP1C?
Just downloaded the latest version 1C..I just started a flight from LAS to LAX...Filled out the FMS just like before the latest version...It has done something wrong...Using VNAV and LNAV with autopilot...doesn't follow the FMS...I am 63nm from HEC and should be at fl2440..I am at 6,700 feet fying at 203Knots with GP at 209...I have to manually fly the 800WL to get it up...I have flown this flight many times before the upgrade with NO problems using the FMS...Somebody tell me it's not my computer...I am using a 5,000 dollar machine with the highest processor and ram available with overclocking the I7X

Freeze on/after final (not what you're thinking)
Interesting!Machine: i980X processor, Nivida GTX480 2GB...MOBO with 12GB...two monitors....737-900ngx... NO add-on scenery, I have attempted to use REX2 ON and OFF...FScommander 8.xx running in the background on the left monitor...Plane on the right...Windows7 professional 64byte...This is a very expensive computer...Computer built has a gaming computer by techs...I am using a modified fsx.cfg file written by ******* for the I7 processor which uses 12 cores... Most flights have been without any problems...I have been very careful about settings...Like I said most flights ok, but weird things start to happen which I can't put my figure on YET! some of the problems stated above like screen freezes I have experienced..Most come at the end of a flight just before landing...It appears on level straight flights everything runs ok, but sometimes on decending, the plane will go crazy and also turn to the left, I know I have all the instruments set up for landing procedures on autopilot....The best landing on autopilot so far has been around -132 FPM.. I will report back later with more documentation...I think there needs to be one forum that just list problems to look for and how to solve them...I never had this type of problems with the 747-400 and 8I and the MD-11...The MD-11 is probably one of the best for autoland in bad weather, especially flying into lax under fog...

Climb Performance Problems
I wasn't using any add-on programs at all...Before I purchased NGX from PMDG I was flying the pmdg md11 and the pmdg 747-400F and 8I models with no problems with REX2...Anyway, I will attempt to use the suggestions by resetting FSUIPC to Normal Degaults and reassign the smooth weather settings (temp and pressure) as suggested by Heron, and detect what happens....Today, I was on teamspeak with Nick and he suggested I load the Trik kill the engine then reload ngx...That appeared to work...The flight from KDFW to KPHX was uneventful to say the least except on approach the engine wouldn't slow down according to the FMS settings and hit the RWY to hard and cracked the front wheel off...

Climb Performance Problems
OK, this might have been the problem when I was flying on VATSIM in the MD-11 using FSINN, but not with the pmdg 737ngx...I haven't had the nerve to put this on Vatsim yet :) so I wasn't using FSINN, of course...For example last night flying from KCLT to KDFW in the 737NGX for another company, (not on Vatsim) (not using FSINN) I noticed my take-off temp was +15degrees C...after climbing up to around FL210 I noticed the temp was +45 degrees C and the engines started slowing down and almost went into a stall, and the AP red light appeared and all navigation was turned off...After clicking the FSUPIC panel "Clear all weather" as I mentioned in my previous post, the temp dropped drastically in the negative areas, the engine came alive, picked up speed, and was able to gain control of the aircraft...
