A word about EZdok bad reinstalls/not working.

Featured Replies

I just did a major computer upgrade including a new mother board and gfx card. As all who have done this knows, what follows that is a couple days of reinstalling gobs of software.

There are many "how to re-install FSX" topics around, and I trust all have seen them. One of the reoccurring problems I've seen is EZDok no longer works, or wont work correctly

with (or without) TrackIR.

In my case, I'm stuck in the pilot seat. Trying to cycle to next cam only moves you back a little, or you cycle in stock cam views. The mouse button hold and pan wont work, and

etc, etc.

Two things to remember here.

1.) a new mother board, windows, and FSX will appear as a whole new computer to Flight1 wrapper EZDok. If you try to reinstall EZ and its 1.17 upgrade without

reinstalling from the wrapper... EZ will not work.

2.) Remember to rename "simconnect.manifest" and "simconnectSP2.manifest" to something like "OFF -  simconnect.manifest" to block them. (Program Files (x86)/NaturalPoint/TrackIR)

You will save yourself hours of frustration and internet research.

Reinstall from wrapper

block simconnect.

That was the exact problem I was having. All the program did was cycle through the stock views in the VC. Thank you very much for this information. This was the one program that gave me more trouble than any of the others I installed haha.

I guess step 2 would have fixed it. Hopefully I can figure out how to do that because I am not sure I remember seeing anything like that.

Thanks Sportfan;

Blocking simconnect is required for EZdok and TrackIR, and is kinda deep in the EZDok install manual. Allot of people miss that one. Those are two files that come with TrackIR, and are in the TrackIR folder. Each time you update the TrackIR software, you have to block them again, as they are reinstalled again. EZDok will have those problems regardless of TrackIR simconnect files after a fresh install, or MB change. The wrapper install is the only way to go at that point.

I don't have Track IR maybe that was my issue? I thought about getting it but I also figured EZdok would be enough but if I need to get it then I will.
