I have nVidia 314.22 driver

GTX550TI 1gb memory video card   i5 2500K CPU 3.4 ghz

Periodically, while using P3D,the screen will freeze for a few seconds and then a message will appear on the taskbar (bottom right) that the nVidia video driver has reset. It is not a big problem nor is it very frequent.

I have tried all the drivers following 314.22 but they cause frequent full freezes/lockups needing a reboot/load. That is a mystery as well. When P3D does run there is no material difference in appearance or performance so I stick with 314.22and try each new driver that is released.

I use "gadgets"(windows7) to monitor video, cpu, disk, network. no recorded overheats. Video usually around 50% load.

What sort of power supply are you using?  Excessive voltage drop from an overloaded PSU could cause this sort of issue.

700watt supply.

Wonder if card seating is a problem. that would be thermal issue even at moderate temps. Or, solder connection on the card. Just fixed my Altec-Lansing speakers which developed a bad solder joint after several years of operation. It is scary but only seems to happen once and early into the flight. There might be an update to the card itself but that is a suicide mission doing an update to a card.
