October 31, 201312 yr Hello friends How the PFPX know that kind of weather i used inside FSX ( or even using onlinr weather in REX ), how it know that to put them in the flight plane when i plane my flight using it ? Thx.
October 31, 201312 yr In pfpx option in the weather settings you select what weather addon your using, hope this is what your referring too I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
October 31, 201312 yr As Peter said, there's a menu allowing you to point PFPX to the folders of the most common weather addons. It reads their data files. It also allows you to quickly switch in case you e.g. wanted historical weather from an addon instead of the real-time weather PFPX receives on its own. You can access the menu in different ways but the current weather source will always show up in that status bar down at the bottom right of the PFPX window. The manual also explains that setup.
October 31, 201312 yr That mean (after i tell PFPX what weather software i use) i need to open fsx the the weather engine of the REX and turn on the online then go to PFPX and start the planning of the rout ?
October 31, 201312 yr I don't think you need to start FSX when you just want to plan. But in the case of REX, you would have to start it (REX), then wait for that initial download of the weather data (you'll see that download progress bar) and then you are able to access this data with PFPX with selecting the REX option and folder (MetarXML in that case). In the case of using historical weather, just wait for this data set to be processed in REX which will lead to the MetarXML folder containing a file PFPX then reads as current. Well, the thinking is that, if you want PFPX to use the same data as your weather engine, you have to point it to the mentioned folder once and allow for an initial and current download of that data before starting to plan. This usually takes place when starting the weather program, regardless of the developer, and waiting lets say 2 minutes. Then you just start PFPX or, if it's already open, force an update on the weather data reading. This happens when you just re-select the weather source in the menu. A few seconds later, it has read what REX, AS2012 or other sources have delivered. The time stamp of the METAR in PFPX should then show the same date as in the REX/ASE/whatever program. That's your check value, so to speak. If you just plan real-time fights and real-time weather, you might not need that synced reading since the weather engines should more or less offer the same data as PFPX and it's online weather sources. However, if you want to be perfectly in sync, define that one folder and always let PFPX read what e.g. REX says.
October 31, 201312 yr That's the name of the folder REX uses to store the weather files. It's also the folder where PFPX should be pointed to when you set up any REX data feed. The full path might look more like C:\Real Environment Xtreme Essential\MetarXML.

CoolP, u mean i need only to locate this path in the PFPX, and start the REX weather engine and let it download weather data and then start the PFPX to plane my flight ? That's right steps ? Lastly, i need to link FSX with REX REAL ENGINE WEATHER with PFPX, i mean PFPX give me a real weather informations and METAR's which is inside my FSX ( which they come from real engine weather from REX ). - i don't need to see wind information in my paper rout that is not present in my FSX. I need the FSX, REX real weather engine & PFPX linked to each other, each one of them give me data on the other. Be aware i NEED the three FSX, REX engine & PFPX connected with each other. Sorry for the prolongation friends, But need the help !!!!!!
October 31, 201312 yr Lets clear up the stuff on the connections and links. PFPX doesn't read anything from inside FSX. It doesn't connect to the sim. Now what it can do is to look at what the various weather addons would inject to FSX. It does so by looking at their downloaded data, which is the reason why you have to point it to certain folders. So it accesses the raw data. You are correct when you say that you need to set up PFPX to look for the REX folder. And then start REX, letting it download its data, to then allow for PFPX to read that data and allow some planning on enroute winds and takeoff and landing runways. So the data streams look like this. REX (downloads data, saves it at e.g. C:\Real Environment Xtreme Essential\MetarXML) v v v v v PFPX (reads the data from REX, allows planning) v v FSX (receives injected weather from REX) You see, no connection from PFPX to the sim in any way. Impressive diagram, I know. B)
