Fixer not installed properly, no VC shadows as before formatting

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I think my Fixer is not installed or doesn't work properly as before.

I formatted my pc, reinstalled FSX and Fixer (last installer) following all the steps required. Apparently seems all works fine but I have a great doubt it doesn't working properly because I have no shadows in VC (before formatting shadows are evident), especially in default c172. Specific tick box or shadows is checked.

How can I verify if it's installed properly? Do you suggest to delete Shader10 cache? Or reinstall from scratch?

Hi Riccardo.

You need to turn them on in the DX10 Toolbox as well. Page 57 (approximately)  under "Enabling VC Shadows".

Clicking on "Aircraft" will open a menu with "Turn on VC Shadows" at the bottom. Select this, and a window will open up, allowing you to browse to the aircraft you want to enable.

Next, click on the aircraft's "model" folder, find and select the .mdl file which name indicates it is the  "interior" .mdl file.

The Fixer will then back this up and create a new interior mdl file with VC shadows now enabled.

Done!

Thanks guys, was my fault, not ticked Cast shadows on itself In FSX.

But I don't know you can add VC shadows to a specif non-default aircraft.

So if I want to install VC shadows to mine addons have I to operate via DX10Toolbox, is it correct?

Ok, I've installed, on PMDG MD11 works fine, but on NGX Fixer activate them but when in VC I can't see nothing.

The difference on NGX is that there are 3 .mdl files, do you know which one activate?

Pn MD11 there is only 1 .mdl file and works perfectly.
