November 5, 201312 yr I have received this BSOD on and off for many months. Now I am beginning to believe that I have solved it! From my ASUS booting screen, I pressed Delete to get the EFI BIOS Utility - EZ Mode. From this I chose Advanced Mode and changed the Ai Overclock Tuner from Manual to XMP. The XMP description says that when XMP is enabled BCLK frequency, CPU ratio and memory parameters will be auto optimized. This is all gobbledegoop to me. Result: After a lot of flying since, I have not had this BSOD again. My PC performance does not appear to have been degraded. I am now a happy man  . Until the next BSOD, that is! November 5, 201312 yr Very good tip Richard for those who own the latest ASUS boards. The X.M.P. profile is well known as the best profile for managing system resources. It's makes it easier to overclock too. In NickN's latest configuration guide he recommends this profile too - http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html.
