DX10 and two screens

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Looking to change over to DX10 using the fixes etc that are available here, including Steve's scenery fixer.

In DX9 mode I can set two different screen resolutions in the fsx settings page, I have one that's 1980x1080 and the other is a smaller 19 inch screen. Sometimes I like to fly with one in VC and the other showing "Spot views". However when I went to DX10 Preview mode I only see a box for one screen resolution setting.

Can I only use fsx in DX10 mode with one screen or is there a fix or maybe something else to get two screens working again.

Going to spend some time over the next few days working the fixes etc etc to get DX10 working properly.

There's a drop down menu that shows yourgraphic_card 0.0 and blah blah 0.1. 1 will be your second monitor and you can set the resolution etc.

You got me going for a while, I thought that might be the answer to FSX wanting to start in the small monitor. Alas...

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the reply,

No fsx is starting in the larger screen as I want it too. My question is regarding whether or not dx10 will work with two screens or just the one? I had it set up in dx9 mode fine with two screens, but didn't notice the drop down box for the second screen resolution, guess I will have to look in the morning.

Thing is, it is possible to run two screens in dx10 mode? My graphics card is a Radeon 5770 which has two separate outputs, one for each screen.

Dave Phillips.

Yes you can.

dx9, dx10, no difference screenwise.
