AS2012 constant request for reactivation

Recommended Posts

Every time start up AS2012 it says I need to activate the software. Does this happen to everyone else? I have to click a couple dialogue boxes and then it is done but it is rather annoying. Is this normal?

I just founds some posts on the issue. Looks like I have to submit a trouble ticket. HIFI has changed their system again so now I've got to reregister for the 4rth time. Right now living with the activation nag might is less hassle. I am getting real tired of maintaining add-ons.

No, your issue is not normal.

HIFI has changed their system again

HiFi changed their system over 2 years ago...

Like the forum title says, it's the "Unofficial Active Sky Forum", which is maintained by AVSIM users.

The official forum is here:

Thanks for the response Devin. I did try the official forum first with 3 HIFI username/passwords that I found in my files and none of them worked. There is no option that I could find on their forum to have your password sent to your e-mail address or reset so I couldn't find out if I ever registered on the official forum of if all my username/password combos were for past purchases on a different system.

It was Friday night at the end of a long week and I just wanted to relax with an FSX flight. After wasting an hour on the HIFI forum, searching my files for passwords, and searching other forums for an answer I was no longer in the mood for FSX and just shut the computer down and did something else. All of this anti-piracy softwear protection and locked forum actions by the developers is making it so onerous on the legimate purchasers that I am losing my interest in this hobby. I don't mean to single out HIFI, it is a problem with all the payware developers and publishers. Some more so than others.

I hear you...long week it was indeed!

I'll point our moderator over here guys.  He will be able to better guide you to resolve your problems with the HiFi forums and the activation problems.  :)

Hi Ted,

PM me your login name for the forums and I'll see what is up with your account.

I have the same problem, started like 3 weeks ago. Really annoying.

The forum problem or activation issues?

Regards,

Sorry for not being clear - the repeated activation requests.
