Choosing between the A320 NEO and the B752

Featured Replies

the NEO A320 is comming along very well, with the upcoming V2 going to put it up / beyond the level of similar offers for FSX.

Yes that's one of the other XPX add-ons that I own. I actually prefer it over the FSX AXE in some ways (especially since the last update they did) but am now waiting for them to add some more complexity such as ability to program holding patterns in the FMGC and SEC RTE function which I don't believe they have implemented yet? So yes, definitely waiting for v2 to come out for those.

Then, when that iXEG 737 becomes available, it'll raise the level to even higher standards.

Now THAT will be an incredible representation of a 737CL series, also something I've never really seen done in FSX, unless you count the Wilco one. One of the sims I'm REALLY waiting for in X-Plane.

But regarding complexity, on commuters for instance, we have the An-24 and the Saab 340. I do not own the Saab, but from what I have seen / read, it looks very good!  The An-24 is a masterpiece like anything designed by Felis :-)

As much as I would love to delve into another airliner such as the 757 or even a turbo-prop (only really tried the PMDG JS41) I just feel that whenever I purchase one I have all these different planes to fly but never truly MASTER any one of them simply because I spread myself too thin, a lot of them end up sitting around somewhere in the dark recesses of my hard drive

I've decided that this time around I'll focus on one plane at a time and go DEEP, as in attempt engine-out scenarios and various system failures, things I don't always do, and try to resolve them 'by the books' rather than always fly the plane 'A to B' every time with 100% confidence that nothing goes wrong.

That's the thing with these complex airliner sims, sometimes I feel I only ever just scratch the surface of many of them.

Another post at this forum has also given us the announcement of an upcoming A330 by the same team that designs de NEO A320...

Interesting. Last year I purchased the BBS A320 for FSX and IMHO it's one of the few purchases I've been fairly disappointed with, particularly their pace of development compared to the JARDesign folks who seem much more dynamic. I don't have an A330 yet and held off getting the BBS one for that reason, then there's also Peter's busses which are nice but don't have the systems complexity I look for.

Future looks bright for those who, just like you and me ( after all ) prefer that type of aircraft for simming :-) - I believe it's because we love eveything about aviation, but we also would have love being able to follow a carreer in aviation... something that wasn't made real, so, we ... simulate it :-)

It sure does! I hear a 64-bit VATSIM client was also just released.

I think you definitely hit the nail on the head about the career thing. My systems admin day job just seems so dull in comparison at times...

:)

(I assume you refer to the FS "Level D".....)

Are you familiar with that 767? From what I've read (and seen from the FF 757 panels) it shouldn't take long to get the hang of the 757 as the commonality between the two is very close.
