Help me with this FSX crash report

Featured Replies

Just recenlty I was flying from Stockholm to Sarajevo on IVAO. 25 min before T/D FSX froze, which for me is normal since I just have to wait for about 7 minutes for it to respond.  But this time FSX just gave up and crashed... :/ With only 30 mins left on the flight you kinda want to punch the screen....hard....with a chair.

I don't like these crashes, so here's a crash report to work with:         Atleast I think it is :3..... I think it's the fe.dll error, but I don't understand, I believe it's linked to 3rd party scenery. I was flying at 40000ft in the PMDG 737, No AI traffic, no flying space airports at 40000ft :P really nothing..I only have a 3rd party cloud enhancer (Freeware) No fancy weatherengine or anything :)

I'm on a Windows 8 64-bit ( I know :/ ), with a 650Ti with the latest drivers & 8 gigs of ram.

The crash was caused by the FE.dll which means one of your textures is corrupted.  It might be a third party AFCAD too.  One individual fixed his problem by removing the LFPG AFCAD he downloaded from the AVSIM Library.  The texture could come from an AI aircraft or from scenery on the ground.  If you recently installed a third party scenery, I would disable it and see if this fixes the problem.  If it does, you should let us know what scenery you found to be the cause of the crash.

Best regards,

Jim

Since I was at 40000ft, could it have been some scenery that I were overflying, or could it have been, say an afcad of Bristol?

Most likely the latter.  Did you just install a new AFCAD for Bristol?  Remember too it could be a corrupted AI aircraft.  Anything with textures.  A lot of freeware and a lot of files in our AVSIM Library were developed for FS9 and sometimes earlier versions of FS.  So, anything you install should indicate it will work in FSX.

Just used Bristol as an example :) ....I did a flight yesterday, same plane, same livery but Venice - Arlanda.....no crashes, not even a freeze. And it took 2:30hrs, like this flight.   I haven't added anything in between these flights.   Though, I added a freeware scenery of Cluj-Napoca a few days ago.  The scenery was designed for FS9 but it worked well on FSX, the runway didn't flash to much, like other FS9 sceneries. So I was satisfied with it, and kept it.  I have disabled the scenery for now, and on top of that I deleted alot of 3rd party freeware, stuff I don't need anymore. Hopefully this will work

Fingers crossed.  Hopefully you can isolate the scenery or texture so you can use the others that are good.

Best regards,

Jim

I've been busy but I managed to fly a flight. All sceneries were deactivated except EKCH & LQSA. Dest. & Dep. airports. It went well with no crash or freezes. I Don't know which scenery it is, but it's in my FSX folder, and I will find it, and I will get rid of it.

Lucas Hollsten

I don't know how many addon sceneries you have installed but I would enable 2-3 at a time until the problem reoccurs.

Best regards,

Jim

Will do that. I'm flying my own tour on ivao, will fly to all countries in europe so I will find the scenery soon.

In other news. Just a minute ago I was on the approach for EKCH after a 2 hour flight. Passing through 5000ft I wanted to check where the other IVAO pilot were because we were on the same approach. Anyway, back in the cockpit the NGX VC didn't load, just a grey cockpit. Then  *BAM* DSOUND.dll crash

Did some research on that crash and......it has absolutely nothing to do with FSX (I think)!

I just can't win...
