sori  the microsoft flight simulator has stopped working problem..sounds like it is fixed .hope so  rgds..ps jim helped me with my same problem  great guy

You need the latest driver from nvidia, the highmemfix, and if you have MyTraffic then you probably have many duplicate afcad files.

I had a lot of problem to a view months ago!

Never had any problems before and then of the blues all sorts of crashes.

 

Sometime I wonder if it has something to do with the Windows Updates?

I will do that if FSX hangs again.

 

I have been thinking the same thing about windows updates.

 

I just reinstalled an image with Win7 and FSX and then ran windows updates.

Generally things seem fine and I might have a little bit better results with VAS now.

(Could be imaginary though and definately needs more testing to confirm!)

 

But I never had FSX hanging before those updates...so it does make me wonder about them too!

(again, just once so this needs more testing as well to confirm)

For an FSX dedicated PC (one you dont browse the internet with, etc so no virus danger etc anyway) that works good....why update right?

You dont need the latest driver. You need a driver that works and then you leave it alone. Updating graphics drivers all the time is one of the main reasons why people keep getting themselves into problems.

 

I have had my driver for a year and a half or so and this was the first time FSX became unresponsive. Not sure what it was, but not the GPU driver I think.

 

I have highmemfix.

 

I dont know much about AFCAD files.

I have changed one once in FS2004 to get correct NAV aid frequencies, but thats about it.

Can you explain what you mean by "duplicate files" and why you think this is a problem?

Do other AITraffic programs not cause duplicate AFCAD files?
