Missing ATIS

Recommended Posts

Am wondering why the ATIS will not show when ATC is brought up for UK2000 EGLC Extreme. The correct ATIS info is present in both the stock and add-on afcad files. Have tried to find any duplicate afcads or other conflicting files, but have found nothing. Posted this in the UK2000 forum as well.

Tried SCANAFD application?

Make sure that the ATIS name is the ICAO.

Occasionally you will find afcads that have the airport name listed for the ATIS and that will cause it to not work.

Joe

Been some in depth testing by the folks at UK2000. Seems this is some sort of internal FS9 error or issue. Am waiting to see if those smarter than I regarding these things can get it sorted.

fs9 default stock EGLC comm list:

Airport, Type, Name, Freq, Comments
EGLC,APPROACH,CITY,132.700,
EGLC,ATIS,EGLC,136.350,
EGLC,APPROACH,HEATHROW RADAR,119.725,
EGLC,APPROACH,CITY,128.025,
EGLC,TOWER,CITY,118.075,
EGLC,TOWER,CITY,118.400,

Are you using just fs9 ATC? What happens if you tune the frequency on your comm radio.

This is the freeware UK2 EGLC comms as extracted by a utility called makerwys for RC4 optional use:

EGLC,London City,136.35,0,0,118.07,0,0,132.70,128.02

ATIS is the first column.

and like the first section here it is as exported from ADE:

Airport, Type, Name, Freq, Comments
,APPROACH,CITY,132.700,
,ATIS,EGLC,136.350,
,APPROACH,HEATHROW RADAR,119.725,
,APPROACH,CITY,128.025,
,TOWER,CITY,118.075,
,TOWER,CITY,118.400,

except in ADE it only shows the first column in text for an add-on in the airport ICAO.

It is all there. note that the airport name is CITY in the comms list also shown in AFCAD2 as the same.

Using FS9 ATC. Checked both the stock and add on afcad files and found the necessary entries as above. Tried tuning the ATIS freq. on the comm radio, and there is nothing there.

OK, got it sorted thanks to Phillip over on the UK2000 forums. It appears there is a limitation on how high the radios can tune. They cannot go above 136.000, and thus there was no ATIS at EGLC because it was set to 136.350. I changed the ATIS freq. to 129.450 (secondary TWR frequency at EGLC) and it worked. Now I have ATIS at London City. Learn somthing new everyday. Thanks to all.

I checked EGLC in ADE and wondered about that as I didn't remember ever using a frequency that high. Did not have time to test it though.

Tested it just now and Gatwick has the same problem.

Learn something new every day.

Joe
