a word of caution in this .... check the gate's co-ordinate (& number) in the afcad to confirm the real (google) is the same !!

for now, cheers

The app is basically a localized ACARS for people whose virtual airline does not store any telemetry data.  I'll be tracking the following (and accumulating it every 10 seconds during the flight):

So the App will plot the flown route on Google earth?

And with the rest of the date you can see how accurately you tracked your NDB approach?

Nice, I would be interested in that!

Yes ... that is the main point of the whole shebang ... using FSUIPC one can interface with MSFX and pull data from the sim (at least that is how I think it is going to work).  When I'm done and it looks pretty good I'll release the code as open source and place it in the public domain.

How often is it polling?  I'd kill for something like this right now, since I'm trying to create new PFPX profiles, and that kind of automated data would save a ton of time for me.

Also, remember that the 250/10 "rule" is more grey than people make it out to be here.  Certain aircraft are allowed over 250 under 10.  Then again, as far as programming goes, you could always just flag it and let the user of the data decide what to do with it.  I'm just really hesitant with flags like this because they tend to perpetuate the myth that 250/10 is absolutely unbreakable.

I was thinking of making this variable ... once every 10 seconds below 10,000 ft. and once every 30 seconds or so at cruse.

This is going to take some doing obviously ... after I've banged my head against the keyboard long enough ... I'll figure it out ... eventually ^_^

I was pleasantly surprised to see that all the gates at YSSY (Sydney, Australia) & YBCG (Gold Coast) are already in the database. It would seem that the major Australian airports have gate info already embedded in the db. But will check through them to ensure this is correct.

Thx for the heads-up Chuck! If I find any airports I regularly fly-in/out of that don't have the gate info, I know what to do now.
