Full runway lighting in daytime?

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me How to get full runway lighting in daytime? At present its a dawn dusk night time thing!I would like to have runway lighting in poor vis approaches during the day and wondered if their is somewhere you can select the runway lights to go on with visibility? Thanks Peter

I don't think it's possible, though we'd all like it to be :-)Gavin

I think that it does that by default. Doesn't it? I arrived at KSEA at about 1445 local time with two or three miles visibility a few days ago and the lights were on. R-

Like Peter, I would love to see runway lights in the daytime.I think that the runway lights in less-than-VMC conditions are triggered by a celing less than (or equal to?) 1,000'. However, the 3 sm visbility component for VFR conditions doesn't appear to trigger the lights. Although I stand to be corrected on this :)Bruce.

It is indeed possible but you can't have it in default scenery. Some good freeware sceneries I know have a built-in hi-int light option that you can switch on by tuning the ILS frequency on NAV1(at any time of the day) or a lo-int lighting that is triggered by the field VOR on NAV1.
