 This is not a flame thread, my option to upgrade from a 960t was only a 6300 and of course my budget.

 

 But I am awaiting my motherboard to be repaired under warranty .

 

I shall try and put some FSX results once I have my mobo.

 

 

 

 

Got my mobo and fsx is running smooth all max. water high 1x terrain 1m (NL2000).

 

She is only clocked at 3.8 don't why she is sitting there. More tests later.

 

I am using the DX10 preview with the shaders and HDE V2 (1024 bit clouds just awesome) and NL2000 , everything is looking rock solid atm. FPS is locked on 30.

Well I don't know after a reformat and using NL2000 she is crying , if I am on default terrain she is great. Even after reducing autogen does not hold to well don't what happened. wondering if my GPU is not coping up with FX 6300, but when looking at GPU-Z the load is only 40-50% and the CPU shows a load of only 20-40%. she starts crawling to 5 -4 fps using NL2000 and the max I have seen is nothing above 17 fps (the CPU locked down to 3.5 ghz to save power so I know that I do require a higher clock but it was working well even on 3.0 ghz before reformat) the CCC is 13.11 beta.

 

Hmm maybe I should have stuck to 960T, but over all the FX 6300 is just brilliant. smooth performance on everything , of course except NL2000 , trying some more tweaks.

 

What I did notice is that Bufferpool and Highmem don't have any effect , yes the AF=62 works perfectly with the core 0 hardly being used.

 

going to try the 3.2 shaders again.

FPS is back nice at 28-29 locked at 30. it was a damn C310Q texture issue as it was crapping out on me don't why , ha with fsx you always don't why.

 

Hey I have pulled 4.4 G's on this CPU and no sweat nice at 1.3v but I going go back to lower clocks once I am done with my settings. instead of flying in FSX we spent more time just to tune it up and sometimes it is worth it and sometimes you just want to shut if OFF .

Most horrible performance with NL2000, goes to 7-9 fps. Clocked at 3.5 with affinity for only two cores, without NL2000 she flies.

 

Removed NL2000 and just installed NL2000 EHSE airport same horrible the moment I turn towards the airport.

 

I have settings ULTRA except water and special effects and Ground Shadows.

 

Hope I can find a replacement EHSE. Most of the tweaks like Bufferpools / Highmemfix have no effect the only one that works is AffinityMask=20 (for two cores only and) . Tried 4.4 Ghz nothing. It can also be the GPU as the load on the CPU shows only 20-37 %.

 

DX10 shader patches nothing maybe I am not setting it right , I will check.

 

Else the system performance or even using FSX default scenery on ultra runs perfectly smooth. More to come.

I think all can try using AffinityMask=20 it should either use 3rd and the 5th core or the last two cores, as this is giving me better performance on 6300 and using AF=62 till yet I have not seen any gains.

 

Even an OC to 4.4 did not result in much gain ,so dropped it 3.0 Ghz (saing power) and I am still pulling around 18-20 on land and higher in the air to around 27-28-29 (30 locked), but yes there is an occasional drop to 9-10 fps for a second climbs back above 20. settings all maxed but special effect and water is high 1.x using sweetfx.

How good ? what scenery addons ? i am clocking and flying at 3.0 Ghz and only using two cores with the affinity mask. I would really like to know the fps against the ad dons sceneries especially. I have an occasional drop in fps at NL2000 which I am trying to figure out.

I have a custom command file that sets the core affinity and thread priority. FPS locked at 30 and hitting it. No Orbx or super detailed big airports. I do use Opus with Max cloud density.

 

Try out FSXAssist. It really wrings out the performance.

I just have NL2000 as an add on scenery and HDE V2 clouds which are excellent.  I am planning on using Fsxwx weather later.

just went ballistic with my scenery settings using Ground shadows and Special effects and LOD_RADUIS= 6.5 and using the Ray hendersons C310q freaking hitting above 22 fps don't again why it is working well , I think it was one of the aircrafts causing fps issues. more tests later

Certain aircraft are WAY worse than others on performance. search online for affinity mask and you can find the settings.

Yep I noticed that.

 

I am using AF=7 , I would suggest you should try AF=20 for that 4300. It will use the last two cores and still perform.

I'm not using the affinity settings in FSX. These could actually give worse performance because of reasons pointed out in my article. That's why I developed the custom script. Not only does it set the affinity for FSX, it also sets the affinity for all the auxiliary applications. (and sets FSX thread priority to high).
