Aircraft Sinking/Bouncing When loaded

Featured Replies

Hey Flight Sim Gang!

So I custom built my computer and it runs FSX beautifully. I of course added some of the standard tweaks and researched long and hard before adding any add-on's.

I am currently running an I7 3770K clocked at 4.0, Nvidia GTX 2GB 770 series graphics card with an SSD for windows and a 3TB Hard drive for FSX and 32GB of 2133 MHZ memory. Up to now I am running gold edition along with Ultimate Traffic 2, PMDG 737-700/800 747-400 Queen of the Skies, Airbus X extended. Accu Feel and I just added and installed Ultimate Terrain X USA and FS Global Ultimate Americas and of course ReX 2.0. I also have the ******* tweak on my CFG.

A few flights ago I noticed that when I first load any aircraft, there is a sinking, bouncing or it jumps up and down all over the airport. I was able to get around it by loading the same aircraft at a smaller sized airport (I fly a lot of transcons between big cities) I also noticed that the landing gear would disappear from AI aircraft, this could have been a one off.

I installed Accu Feel, Ultimate Terrain X USA and FS Global Ultimate Americas pretty much on the same day and prior to these the simulator was not responding that way. I am fairly confident that it has to do with either UTX or FSG since they are terrain type programs and the aircraft is acting like the ground isn't where it should be.

I am not an expert in FSX but know my way around, is there a tweak I should be doing or something I am missing within those programs that I didn't set? Before I spend hours figuring it out, I figured I'd ask the forums and see if anyone has had similar issues, if this topic was discussed somewhere I couldn't find it so please, be kind if this novice fix :). As a real life airline pilot, I only just found a benefit to using FSX regularly, so I welcome any suggestions, again I am able to get around it and still fly without any issues but I'd love to just have it work correctly the first time.

Thanks for any help!

J

I have heard of this before and have seen it reported that the mesh setting may be the issue.

What setting is your mesh at?

Try lowering you mesh resolution by one notch and see if that makes a difference.

Yes exactly as I was saying.  Say "J" let us know if these adjustments solve the issue?

Thank you Gentlemen, that seemed to do the trick. I have to slide it back and fourth a bit to find the highest number I can leave in place and still have it be stable but thank you for saving hours of time. Still tweaking FSX for the best performance and even with my high end system, some of these new programs deliver a heavy learning curve :)

Thanks again!
